  1. Cool, let us know when the FBI will be selling their old .40 cal handguns so we can pick them up cheap!
  2. Sorry, just saw this, I will get a few. Taking her for a ride tomorrow night for PPC at OBRPC.
  3. We have a S&W 22A, S&W 617, Sig 1911, and my favorite, a Browning Buckmark. I'll take the Browning over the rest of them any day.
  4. I had my valve covers done on both of my race cars, the stuff has been pretty good so far. They have been hit plenty of times with brake clean and still look new. The graphics are covered in automotive clear coat and seem to hold-up really well.
  5. I have been buying it online from several sources for less than .10 a round, and not for junk. This is not the proper place to sell ammo though, so before you get slammed, don't try selling it here, and please advise your LEO buddy to READ the laws. I really HATE the fact that LEO's can basically arrest anyone for just about anything and they are protected from those they arrest. I'd like to see their wife/mother/father/children get jammed-up and then see how they feel............
  6. Tell him to read and UNDERSTAND the laws before he passes judgment next time. http://www.njsp.org/about/fire_hollow.html
  7. If the seller forgets to send the two copies in, that would be bad news. Not worth the risk involved. I play by the rules, have used SP015/SP016 several times, I don't have any problems. Get fresh permits at least twice a year whether I need them or not. Nothing I "have to have" anyway, there are plenty to chose from around here.
  8. Old Bridge has their monthly Knockdown Steel event this Saturday, 9 - 3, outdoor range, open to the public.
  9. The Ben Franklin Bridge, the Betsy Ross Bridge, the Commodore Barry Bridge, take your pick, they ALL lead to FREEDOM!
  10. BTW: When we do face to face transactions for handguns, the seller needs to send the paperwork to both the buyers local PD and the NJSP. While we are going on the "honor system" here, what happens if you "forgot" the exact transfer date on the FTF and went to a local store/FFL before the 30 day period was up and bought another gun? What if the NJSP are soooooo far behind in entering info that they don't catch the fact that you just acquired two guns within a 30 day period? Heck, you could do it within the same week....... I'm not condoning breaking their ridiculous rules, god forbid you buy two more handguns within a less than 30 day period to add to your 50+ handgun collection.........
  11. I was at a Walmart in MD a few months ago and a friend bought a pellet gun that I can swear also came with a .22 barrel, no FID, no drivers license, nothing was reguired except for the debit card! Not sure if it was spring or gas operated.
  12. Our pistol purchase permit system is just as dumb. Once you have been through the process and purchased your first handgun, there should no longer be a need for pistol purchase permits, ever! We don't need to discuss the absurdity named OGAM. "Their" laws are really doing an excellent job keeping guns out of the hands of those that legally can't have them.
  13. Actually kinda ugly. At least the Archangle stock looks good. But, what do we need a stock for? I have shot my Mosin by holding the barrel in one hand and the bolt against my stomach. After awhile the barrel is a bit too hot to hold without gloves though. Not very accurate shooting it that way either, but for a functional test, works just fine. I wouldn't suggest to shoot your Mosin in that fashion though, unless you have a strong stomach.
  14. Just another reason NOT to go to public ranges. Shore Shot does not allow it, plus you have to buy their frangible ammo for rifles. Brick Armory does allow just about anything.
  15. Yes, the Beretta will hold-open on an empty mag. Plus..............You get to buy ANOTHER handgun that will use the same mags between the two! Now, be forewarned. There are two different CX4's. The one I still own uses the same mags as the PX4 handgun. They also sell a CX4 which will use the same mags as the 96FS. Or, you can get an adapter that lets you use the other mag in the CX4 if you want to. I don't remember which way it goes.......... The first time I tried my 96FS mag in my CX4, it slid up and in, and then fell out on my foot. I could use it if I held it up in place, but that wasn't going to cut it for Knockdown Steel that day!
  16. Sorry Bob, I don't do the cold anymore, too smart, too old for that stuff. I do use the 610 for PPC once a month though at OBRPC. Come join us next Friday night at our indoor range. The event is open to the public, 60 rounds of ammo per relay needed. You can use a holster or start from the low-ready, no time penalty, we are just competing for fun, no $$$, no prizes. Being a non-member you can shoot one relay for $20, or two relays plus get into the 50/50 for $30. It's indoors and WARM! We can use .22LR, or just about any center fire ammo, NO magnums though. No need to worry about major/minor power factor stuff either. This is a handgun-only competition this time, we just did our carbine-only competition, no more for the year.
  17. Joe, I have seen the CX4's for $650, yet there are also people trying to get over $1000 for the gun. Maybe I will look into that trigger, seems like a lot of people like that upgrade.
  18. I was being facetious Paul. I lived there from 1970 to 1988, my parents are still there. Used to be a nice place to live.
  19. I'll take the 610 out for a spin if it's 50 or warmer.
  20. No local police, no fire fighters, no high school, makes you wonder where $10K+ a year in taxes go...............
  21. No love for the Storm. It is an ugly m-f'r for sure, but runs flawlessly! It is my Knockdown Steel gun. Iron sights are great, throw a cheap dot on there that co-witnesses with them, you're good to go. I have not changed the trigger on it, I saw no need to. If you are shooting for accuracy, then maybe, but to hit steel plates, I rarely miss, and I suck! Yes Joe, mine is a .40 cal. I had a second one I sold last year. Had the 9mm version also, should have kept it.
  22. I have to check, but I think I tried 3/4 ounce #9 shot in 12 gauge once for Knockdown Steel. The result............. Looked like I was trying to knock the steel over with a .22! I had to call the wifey and have her bring me "normal" 12 gauge ammo so I could continue that day. To say that stuff shot soft is an understatement! I bought it from Cabelas last year when they had $5 shipping for any amount of stuff you bought. I happen to get 10 cases of shotgun ammo delivered, $5 for a couple hundred pounds, was well worth it!
  23. What we found was custom 20 loads in a pump or break open were easier on the shoulder than factory loads out of my little Rem 1100 in 20 gauge. The custom loads would not cycle the action in the 1100 though, if they did, that would be a really cool combination! The Rem 1100 could be a little heavy though for small kids.
