  1. My wife and I have been planning for that eventually for more than 10 years now, In all honesty we won't be abandoning NJ or America entirely but rather spending up to 8 months at a time in Asia pursuing some business interest we've been fostering and investing in for years. Bought a small parcel of land not far from good fishing and diving and want to build a little "Casitas" with high walls and room for a outdoor "wet" kitchen. Time to go folks........The downward spiral begun a long time ago.....

    Rain Barrels

    Gotcha........................

    Rain Barrels

Yeah I read about this but then again this guy amassed 13 million gallons in 3 ponds/lakes.....he's way passed the simple rain barrel stage.

    Rain Barrels

Growing up in the Caribbean I am quite familiar with the rain barrel and had 3 around the yard all fed by diverted rain gutters off a galvanized roof. Now we had to have it simply because most smaller islands have little in the way of a reliable potable water source other than rain water and in times of drought not even that but mainly we used it for watering the garden, flushing toilets and outboard motors ..... very rarely for cooking or drinking and even then after filtering and boiling. If your intention is to supplement your drinking water supply I would urge you to investigate the implications of your roofing material, local vegetation and wildlife's impact on said runoff and the equipment and procedures required in order to convert run off to drinkable water. As you've no doubt seen the somewhat nostalgic idea of a rain barrel in the back yard is somewhat less viable after all the ramifications are considered..... Good luck.
  5. Hiding purchases from the wife/husband. Ability to shoot personally owned firearms on a lunch or dinner breaks without transporting them in compliance of NJ laws. Safe storage when children are in household. Safe storage when on extended vacation or business trips. Just plain lazy/stupid or a combination of both.
  6. I would think that RTSP would fit the bill and I know it goes without saying but I will anyway......shoot first ...party later.
  7. Monroe's farm stands are laden with cherrys and some beefsteaks but roma's are still a little sparse.
  8. I have friends in Portland and get up there at least once a year with some of my guns and as the previous poster have already indicated......stay far away from NYC.
  9. I finally got one after waiting earlier this year but only had the opportunity to put about 100 rounds through it. First impressions. Trigger is a lot grittier than my CZ 75b when it was new. The weight is deceptive for such a small gun but I like it. Inner rail was rough with some tool marks but so far it hasn't affected it's performance as far as I can tell. Accuracy is good but not as good as the 75b but that can just be me getting used to a new gun. Reliability is excellent for just a 100 rounds...time will tell. Mine came with 1 10 round and 1 14 round mag with a finger extension which I like but having smaller hands the 10 round flush mag grips fine. Finish is great but already looking for some cool wood grips. If you've fired one already you know what to expect but I'm really into the retro cool this little gun oozes and it's a keeper. Hope this helps.
  10. My DiLongi 45 quart ran for 6 years with out any issues. now in storage.
  11. If there is a chance that poor Juno doesn't pull through.....please let me know. I have some butcher friends from Montreal that makes the absolute best Tartare de Cheval and what they do with a wine braised short loin is....ooh la la.
  12. I lived in Washington Heights at that time and remembered a couple of huge billboards on both sides of the George Washington bridge advertizing those bedroom communities in the Poconos to all the denizens of upper Manhattan and the Bronx. As I understand it, what the developers and buyers did not take into account is that when catering to a community with kids who's idea of green space was largely what ever scraggly open ground there was between the "Projects, drop them in the middle of the country where the original residents neither wanted or understood them with no outlet other than gang rivalries they brought with them.Add to that their parents longer commute, huge balloon payments that came with the no down payment mortgages, buyers who were basically 2'nd generation renters with no idea of what it takes to own and maintain a home and it was a doomed undertaking from the start.
  13. Exactly...add to that the fact that Fulop demoted the Chief of Police supposedly for not falling in line with new policies and It's anyone's guess what the acting has been instructed to do .
  14. I've purchases several times from them and never really had an issue...however,I went in with the realization that fast shipping is not their strong suit and only contact them by email. When they're flush with ammo and accessories and the emails hit your in box?.... double their usual wait times.
  15. That's what I grilled on when I visit Norway.....the tripod with a cast iron bowl to hold either charcoal or wood and a grill surface that is either hand cranked or just slotted over it. I took back a Lodge dutch oven last trip and now my brother cooks just about anything over wood with it. Also helps with the big, slow but persistent mosquitoes over there. That one is pretty damn fancy though..........
  16. Excellent little torches for the price. I've bought a couple dozen over the years and have them stashed all over the house, cars, toolboxes, range bags and given them to friends. I just install a average Duracell and they're plenty bright.
  17. Now that is true wisdom.....I don't own a AR platform as yet but noticed prices beginning to level off from just a year ago so now in the market. With all the available accessories, options and bling some of the possible options can pass well into the thousands and confused the hell out of me...plus I'm cheap.
  18. Perhaps from the outrageous prices of early last year but gone is the under $10.00/50 for re loadable 9mm. Prices have indeed gone down but the new normal.and totally expected I might add is quite a bit higher since our recent unplesentries and the slew of new firearms owners.
  19. Good to know....supposedly excellent restaurants in that town and good waterfront bars.....Biker central like Lake George?
  20. I would stop at the mega Wally world and Gander mountain in Plattsberg after crossing the Canadian border on the way back home but in the past 2 years have yet to find any .22,.38,.357,9mm on the shelves....
  21. Thank you ...not that I'm in the market for a $1800.00+ gun but good to know .
  22. But I was under the impression that STI still uses a Amscore/Rock Island frame made in the Philippines.
  23. This is all well known..... but your heading is "the cheapest Sig you will ever see" is it not?
