  1. And dead men cannot sue you civilly for grievously injuring or crippling them. Of course a dead man's family could always take a shot at it.
  2. Let's order all our ammo from China. Looks like they're gearing up as a supplier.
  3. Nice try though. Thanks for that link Bob. I went to Judicial Watch and the original GAO report too. I'll have to keep those links for future reference.
  4. If the 'foam' was the semi-liquid variety that expands and hardens then it would not have moved or settled. If it was the granular type then yes, it can settle. Either way, what is the 'proof' it was installed properly and thoroughly? Without an infrared study or some other measurement mechanism you can't be sure of what you can't see. (Of course in a new house solid foam can be inspected visually before the sheet rock goes up to insure it was done right.) I read a study a while back that showed how a one square foot opening in static conditions in a large residence (say 3,000 square feet) would admit enough cold air to consume a HUGE amount (%) of heating capacity to offset (I don't remember the BTU equivalent). And that was without wind blowing. Add up all the leaking outlets etc. in a house, and it's easy to see how a house has at least one square foot of leakage. BTW, I'm certainly not ignoring your heating plants. Make sure they're tuned and efficient of course, as previously suggested.
  5. Your house is losing heat as quickly as your systems are introducing it. In some areas maybe faster. In all probability your house has no insulation in the walls. Or the spaces above the uppermost ceilings? The drafts through your outlets are a big tip off. I'm afraid that other than simply overwhelming your house with heat (as it appears to be the case in your bedroom) the answer is to shut off all the outside air flows and insulate the place. From your description there's probably an imbalance in the heat delivery too. I have been through this in my previous house. See if you can rent or borrow an infrared camera to look at all the exterior surfaces this winter to identify where the worst of the leaks are. Then start with them.
  6. Per Malusa: if thermal conduction between the CPU and the heat sink is under performing, or non existent, your cooling fins will be... cool! Try the paste route first.
  7. According to both my wife and I it shoots very well. Great trigger too.
  8. Try this: shoot a full box through a Glock 36. Then every other .45 will seem soft.
  9. Is yours the DA/SA version, or the SAO?
  10. I have the Combat and I like it. I did put Hogue grips on it to make the pistol a better fit for my hand. I shoot it pretty well. If I were buying (only one) P220 today and could afford it, I'd be looking hard at the Legion SAO variant. (Apparently they stopped making the standard SAO variant, which was cheaper.) Shoot the different models if you can. I don't know if any ranges are making Legion pistols available for rent. I haven't seen one myself
  11. Here's some photos from the unveiling in Dubai.

  13. Don't bother calling Menendez. He wants to throw CCW holders from other states in jail regardless. And by the way, did you know we're against concealed carry weapons?
  14. Here is the link to congressman Massie's Facebook page and the post he put up about this. For me the operative paragraph is: "A few have speculated that the House is combining the bills to ensure reciprocity will pass in the Senate. I have some news for them: Senators Feinstein and Schumer aren’t going to vote for reciprocity even if it contains the fix-NICS legislation they support for expanding the background check database. If someone is naïve enough to think that’s going to work, and they’re willing to accept fix-NICS to get reciprocity, then they should ask the Senate to go first with the combined bill. (Emphasis mine) Here’s a dangerous scenario that’s more likely to play out: The House uses the popularity of reciprocity (HR 38) to sneak fix-NICS through, while the Senate passes fix-NICS only. The Senate and the House meet at conference with their respective bills, with the result being fix-NICS emerges from conference without reciprocity. Fix-NICS comes back to the House and passes because all of the Democrats will vote for it (as they just did in Judiciary Committee) and many Republicans will vote for it. Because Republicans already voted for it once as part of the reciprocity deal that never came to pass, they won’t have a solid footing for opposing fix-NICS as a standalone bill. Then we’ll end up with fix-NICS, which is basically an expansion of the Brady Bill, without reciprocity." I think this is the most likely scenario. Senate Democrats, IMO, will never vote for reciprocity if they think it will really be enacted. I also happen to believe that the House leadership won't mind the above scenario and will simply say "Hey, we tried and those Democrats screwed us again. But we had to do something."
  15. Thanks. Yes I saw that after I posted this. I hadn't been following that thread. I'll leave it here for anyone else that is unaware.
  16. I suggest you read this. Breitbart is not the only report out there about stashing the NICS 'improvements' in with reciprocity. So, an agency can decide on its own that you're not worthy of buying a firearm? Without judicial review?

    My Sig P220

For a nice little up-charge, yes. I fondled a P226 Legion DA/SA and it was really nice. But I'm not sure it's that nice.
  18. I was just forwarded this link from a PA firearm friend of mine who also digs cars. First I heard about this. 212 MPH? Where will I do that? Hahahaha! My driveway! The one with the hairpin turn! For the time being I'll settle for my C5. Jake (As in the avatar)

    My Sig P220

You're right! The Sig P226 SAO (9mm) is gone as well. So I'm glad my wife bought one when she had the chance! Nothing wrong with .22, but it's not 9mm.

    My Sig P220

Hey... where's the SAO??? I just 'browsed the collection' and SAO is only available in 10mm Hunter model! That's a shame. I'm glad i bought mine when I did. A 1911 in Sig clothing.

    My Sig P220

220R-45-B = Sig Sauer P220 Nitron, .45 ACP, 4.4" BBL, Contrast, 8RD That model came with a rail and contrast sights. If it had Sig factory night sights we would expect the -BSS suffix. Are your night sights aftermarket? For your reference, although these are the current models and I know they've trimmed this line in the last couple years. Nice pistol. Good luck with a sale.

    My Sig P220

You should probably tell us the specific variant of the P220, as there are a number of them. The complete Sig model number would be good.
