  1. You can use your standard lower but will need 7.62x39 ar mags. some good reading on the subject http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=558
  2. use a permit every month for the first 3 month, then renew the second 3 and use them the next 3 months. It requires good timing, but can be done.
  3. I was looking to do the same thing but was not 100% sold that the barrel will lock in the exact same way every time, which could radically effect zero. The stock ruger sights are both mounted on the front half of the gun making the barrel connection play moot.
  4. A semi-automatic rifle that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following: This means that if it is a semi-automatic rifle and has a detachable magazine it can have ONE of the following features and still be legal, but if it has two or more, then it would not be legal. 1) A folding or telescoping stock; 2) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon; 3) A bayonet mount; 4) A flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor; 5) A grenade launcher youre good
  5. American Defense. Its a solid mount, returns to zero, and Ive had no problems with mine. http://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/8/
  6. keep in mind for a BOB this is a ton of dead weight with limited usability. You woul dbe better off with the crovel. http://www.gearupcen...n-purchase.html
  7. In practice these tools do a lot, but dont do any of these thing very well. I have experience with the TNT/denver tool and that is a but better, albeit more expensive. http://www.thefirestore.com/store/product.cfm/pid_948_tnt_multi_purpose_tool/
  8. Check out the larue rail index clips http://www.laruetactical.com/indexclips-72-piece-set they come with a few with a little tail on them to hold the wire coming off the tape switch. Maybe you could work them to hold the tape switch in the gap as well.
  9. I usually just bring a block into the large pit, and if the 50 yard range is empty, practice there.
  10. Rey- As per what I was told at the counter on Monday, it wont be offered any more. If thats true or not remains to be seen. Henry
  11. For just plinking I use a pair or retired 5.11 boots. For matches I wear a pair of Under Armour football cleats. I like the extra traction I get, and its really handy at old bridge in the loose gravel.
  12. DOH. Congrats though. If you are over there apply for your stamp and go for the real deal SBR. Way more useful than a pistol.
  13. AFAIK the pistol cant be built under the 50oz weight requirement without using the carbon series of receivers.
  14. Absolutely, Id just like to reserve judgement until all the facts are in
  15. Just to play devils advocate, Ohio does have CCW. This guy may have just been sitting with one of those maxpedition man purses that had his gun and spare mags instead of carrying on his person. The devil is in the details, and this story is lacking.
  16. To be quite honest, I prefer 7.62x40 Wilson Tactical. The 300 Blackout is a nice round, but it drops quickly, and in a state where can ownership is near impossible, is prevented from reaching its full potential. 7.62 WT is much like a 300 blackout except it moves a much higher velocities. If you reload, I would go with that, If you dont 300 is the way to go.
  17. You need to go through an FFL dealer. Person to person private sales are illegal across state lines.
  18. I should have the usual contingent of the girlfriend and her family there
  19. If its anything like the glock, its a different frame all together
  20. I have the led version, and have carried it every day for 3 years. It gets dropped, soaked, and otherwise abused and has yet to fail. Its a keeper. Henry
  21. Supposedly John was mailed them the week after the match. Take that for what its worth.
  22. Remove the side plate and make sure it is clean and lubed. Make sure that the action is clear of any grit or debris from manufacture.
