  1. ^^^ nice your Macgyver in disguise. Damn I miss that show ... Pocket lint , a match , piece of gum...all he needed to create an explosive devise.
  2. I have used estates and have not experienced light strikes however I am not a fan of the recoil. I feel a noticeable increase in recoil with estate shells as compared to similar spec Remington or Herters shells.
  3. North Jersey Trap club in Fairfield is where I go. Instructors are available but you need to schedule. People are nice but be honest on your abilities so they dont put you with a group of experts and your shooting from the 27 yrd mark. Also best to go in the afternoons on weekends as the mornings are usually competitive groups who expect you to know what your doing . Once you get going though it's a great atmosphere and you learn a lot from your peers.
  4. Agree, just buy a case of shells ... I usually run through 125-175 each time out. Also bring at least a case of clay pigeons. Last two outings I brought 3 cases and they disappeared in no time as they are shared amongst shooters .
  5. I may be interested never been there before. How far away is it from Clinton?
  6. I'll be there and bringing a couple of cases of clays. Good idea about reinforcing safety.
  7. These are the things as shooters we cannot prevent but we must always be aware of our surroundings and call out a possible problem before it escalates. Example : I was at the bullet hole one day and as I was reloading my magazines I noticed the guy next to me had a malfunction . He had his gun out and was jerking the trigger to see if it would go off. Then he starts to turn the barrel away from down range and towards me. I stepped back and immediately yelled at him before he tried to rack the slide as the barrel of his gun was pointing at my port and his finger still on the trigger. At that time the RO came over and took over the matter. Funny thing is the guy acted as if I was at fault for calling him out in his actions. So always be aware of you surroundings at any ranges.
  8. I will probably be there tomorrow can not make it today.
  9. Good deal plus I tried to used a 20% off coupon and they took it. So 2 flats plus 3 cases of clays...112.00 out the door. Always try a coupon because at the registers you never know who you'll find.
  10. Had a great time looking forward to the next one ...

  13. How , where and to what distance due you sight in your AR? At an indoor range do you bring a rest for your AR to sight in? Also if it's for home defense what yardage you sight in at?
  14. I don't think it's raining tomorrow ... Any how what time will people be there?
  15. If anyone has an extra they can separate with send me a PM. Will pay cash and in Essex county.
  16. Why are their dynacomp as much as their lowers ?
  17. Aren't we hinting to forum roamers our significant others ability to defend our homes with this thread???
  18. Thanks guys for all this insight. I will probably buy a dedicated Adam arms complete upper and give it a try ( saw some for sale with decent pricing). I never experienced the DI gas in the face situation, as I have a DI AR. Based on what you guys are saying the proprietary situation does seem like an issue but that's why I'm going with a named brand ... Hopefully they will be around a while and in most cases if they decide to go under usually another manufacturer comes in and takes over. But if you think if it from the stance of a survival situation it might not be a good situation to be in if your gun breaks down . I'm sure there are a lot more DI guns out there and you have a better chance of finding one and swap out parts. Just some Food for thought.
