  1. For self defense I would be concerned about the reliability of a .22. They sometimes don't go bang every time the trigger is squeezed.
  2. I have taken the CPR/AED, First Aid, and Trauma classes at GFH and all were excellent.

    Dry fire question

The .22LR snap caps I have seen are softer plastic. After using for awhile they break and need to be replaced.
  5. Really beautiful shots. So when are we going to see the video?
  6. I think his long range is around 220yds.
  7. S.P. 641 Application For Employee Of Firearms Dealer License http://www.njsp.org/firearms/pdf/sp-641.pdf
  8. 2C:58-2 Retailing of firearms; licensing of dealers and their employees. 2C:58-2. a. Licensing of retail dealers and their employees. No retail dealer of firearms nor any employee of a retail dealer shall sell or expose for sale, or possess with the intent of selling, any firearm unless licensed to do so as hereinafter provided. The superintendent shall prescribe standards and qualifications for retail dealers of firearms and their employees for the protection of the public safety, health and welfare. Applications shall be made in the form prescribed by the superintendent, accompanied by a fee of $50 payable to the superintendent, and shall be made to a judge of the Superior Court in the county where the applicant maintains his place of business. The judge shall grant a license to an applicant if he finds that the applicant meets the standards and qualifications established by the superintendent and that the applicant can be permitted to engage in business as a retail dealer of firearms or employee thereof without any danger to the public safety, health and welfare. Each license shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of issuance, and shall authorize the holder to sell firearms at retail in a specified municipality. In addition, every retail dealer shall pay a fee of $5 for each employee actively engaged in the sale or purchase of firearms. The superintendent shall issue a license for each employee for whom said fee has been paid, which license shall be valid for so long as the employee remains in the employ of said retail dealer.
  9. If you are drawing 1/4 a at 120v then it will require about 2 a at 12 v so getting 9 hours from a 14 ah battery is expected. You need a much larger battery to make this run longer or a smaller light.
  10. Thanks for all of the advice. I finally got the Leatherman Skeletool for a great under $30 (from Home Depot with free shipping). It's relatively light and small and so far I am happy with it.
  11. I had also replaced the mag release with a Volquartsen extended release (not to fix anything but to make it a bit easier to press). I will try putting back the original release and see if that helps.
  12. Yes it does go into battery. It just doesn't pick up a round.
  13. Lots of mags and all do the same. Two came with the gun and the others were purchased separately (Ruger mags). Tried a few types of ammo. I also tried polishing the feed ramp.
  14. I have a Ruger 22 Mark III that I have been having problems with. I had other issues that I resolved by replacing the hammer bushing, loaded chamber indicator, and extractor with parts from Volquartsen. The issue I have is failure to feed a round. This never happens on the first round. It probably happens 2 or 3 or 4 times per magazine. Racking the slide chambers the round. I am using CCI Mini Mag plated cartridges so I don't think ammo is the issue (I have also tried Federal LRN). I have also rounded the rear corner lips on some of the magazines to see if that would help but it is still getting FTF's. Any ideas what could be causing this?

  16. +1 Excellent belt. I have the one with the Titanium buckle and wear it everyday.
  17. So will NJ become a shall issue state? Citizens' Protection Act http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2016/Bills/S1000/579_I1.HTM SYNOPSIS Revises procedures for securing a permit to carry a handgun. Statement This bill, the "Citizens' Protection Act," revises and simplifies the procedures for securing a permit to carry a handgun in the State of New Jersey. Under the provisions of the bill, an applicant for a permit to carry a handgun would be entitled to that permit so long as he can demonstrate competence with a firearm and is not statutorily disqualified. To demonstrate that competence, the applicant would be required to include, as part of his application for the permit, a copy indicating his successful completion of a firearms safety or training course or class offered by a law enforcement agency, an educational institution, the military, or the National Rifle Association. An applicant who holds a permit to carry is deemed competent and need not submit such evidence.
  18. More ammo and more guns (you can never have too much ammo or too many guns).
  19. Welcome and thanks for your service. It's never too late so enjoy.
  20. The law of unintended consequences. I really never understood the lure of open carry but that's me in NJ.
