  1. I've had my mind set on a Shield for a few months now, still waiting on my f'ing permits, and I was going to get the .40 S&W but wasn't sure because I hadn't shot a .40 S&W before and the 9mm started to intrigue me more and more. Plus my wife could shoot the 9. But I got a chance to shoot my friend's M&P .40 S&W today and I don't know what all of the hub-bub is about with folks saying the .40S&W has such a snappy recoil. I admit it is definitely more recoil than a 9mm but I don't think it's anything I'd hate shooting. I put 50 rds. through my buddy's gun and I enjoyed it. I'd like to shoot a .45 now just to compare between the .40 S&W and .45. So if my damn permits ever come in I will be torn on which shield to get. Guess I'll just have to snag up either if I find it. Also thinking about getting an XDm sub-compact in .40 S&W. We'll see. Anyone know what kind of rental inventory Bob's Little Sport Shop in Glassboro has? They're closed tomorrow so I might try calling Monday if I can find time while at work. I want to take the wifey down there to handle and shoot a couple of different manufacturer's guns since she seems to think my XD9's slide is tough to lock. I've never been to Brick Armory. Might have to check it out sometime if I ever head that way.
  2. Welcome from another Hamilton resident, though soon to be leaving this state for a free one!
  3. better deal than midwestpx by a couple of bucks..
  4. The FFL shows up on Bud's Guns site as "Weapons and Accessories" if you type in 08080 zip code.
  5. Never heard of it but why don't you have it transferred to Bob's Sport Shop? http://www.bobslittlesportshop.com
  6. I like what vladtepes said, I agree with his point of view. If you don't like your current state of affairs, then change it. That being said, I voted for I am leaving. This move out of state has been a long time coming, about 4 years because of the wonderful real estate market going down the tubes, but no more! My wife, daughter and I are heading down to South Carolina this summer and am hoping to be fully settled by end of July/early August. My company is allowing me to relocate and work out of a small satellite office in Charlotte. But like I said we planned this over 4 years ago but have been "stuck" in our current mortgaged property, but now we can wait no longer. It's just going to have to be rented (and I already read the posts about renting in NJ, but I have several friends who are landlords here and have made it work. It's not ideal but it's all we can do. We're underwater by a nice chunk) All of our family is here, but we have to do what is best for US as a family. The recent events and subsequent bills being proposed have just heightened the immediate need to leave. Stack on all of the other known problems of being a NJ resident and you have a recipe for "get the f**k outta dodge" soup. This state is a cesspool (and I've lived here my entire life outside a couple of years in college in DE and AZ). I hope for all those staying that you eventually reach your utopian state.
  7. OOS. Web page says In Stock but when you add one you get a message saying out of stock. Figures.
  8. Inventory at Cheyenne is really slim. I get over there at least every week and I haven't seen much being replenished. I bet I know who the salesman was that was saying "all you have to do is rack the slide to scare away intruders".
  9. This is annoying is what it is. I can't get more than one box at LGS and none of these "deals" can I ever accomplish. I haven't been to the range in over 3 wks. Sad times we are in.
  10. I can't believe you scored this! I'm still waiting on my f'ing permits to come in, just stopped over there and of course the fun counter was packed. Picked up a box of AE 9mm and Speer Gold Dot 9mm.
  11. The funny thing about this is that they just built a brand new MVC building here in Lawrenceville; for what? Waste of money.
  12. Welcome, we have a house in Manahawkin!
  13. Much cheaper than most of the stripped lowers i've seen for while..tempted....
  14. I have a spot that is a sand quarry that is on private property that I shoot on. Handguns, skeet, rifles, shotgun, you name it we shoot it. I am lucky enough to be able to do this, however it's not going to be as much with all of the effing ammo being unavailable. Unless you know someone whose property you can shoot on, and provided the town ordinance does not prevent it, it's probably going to be hard to find something like that.
  15. It depends on the Dick's actual store location as to when they get shipments. I know here in West Windsor they get shipments on Tues/Thurs. but right across the bridge in Oxford Valley they get shipments on Wednesday. So it seems like they can all get shipments on different days so call your local. I picked up 3 boxes recently from Dick's of AE 9mm but I wasn't happy to pay $19.99/box.
  16. got it, thanks. I'm not in the know on what's a good deal in these times or not so I thank you all for helping me to understand. I didn't know what pre-craze prices were so it's difficult to even know what's a "decent" deal considering the times. Also good stuff to know RiR.
  17. Which Hamilton is that? Mercer County or another? Fantastic job and thank you for all that you do!
  18. Is this really a "Hot deal" or this is just posted because its "an available deal". Serious question, not being sarcastic. I would love a BCM lower but am not going to pay a pretty penny for it.
  19. I want to thank Tim, Grant and Jen for an awesome course this past Sunday! My wife Michele and I attended and it was extremely well worth it and the instruction was on-point! It was cold as heck but a very enjoyable time. If you're on the fence or are interested in taking a class with them do not hesitate and you won't be disappointed. We're going to evaluate some other courses they offer and take another soon! I know I am interested in the CCW class. Thanks again GAPPNJ! Justin N.
  20. This is interesting to me and I agree even though I have no experience with these lowers or even an AR itself. I've been sitting on the sideline for months now waiting to decide what to do, buy a fully assembled complete rifle or attempt to do a hard task in my mind: build one myself. I've stayed away from the many "new frontier lowers available" threads, I just wasn't real comfortable jumping on one of these "deals". They certainly may work for some, but for a newbie looking to build their first I am inclined to reduce any potential obstacles I encounter during the build process. I still don't know what I want to do......
  21. I just started watching this, wasn't really ever interested in it but heard quite a few ppl at work always talking about it and since its on Netflix and I got rid of cable I figured why not. I'm hooked!! This is a really good show this far. It's like Lost 2 for me. And now I have my wife watching it with me, We're only on season 2 but I forget which episode. Last nights episode that we watched is the one where Shane goes apeshit and opens up Hershel's barn with the walkers and just destroys them all. Just typing this makes me want to watch another episode!!!
  22. Have you shot with your afg2? Just wondering if the full stock prevents it from smashing into your finger on recoil. I took my Mossberg 500 to the range last week and came away with one sore pointer finger. I just have the pistol grip on it for now until either magpie delivers their stock for the 500 or I find a good deal on the ATI Scorpion.
  23. I think this guy is phenomenal. I posted another video of him a while back. And I agree that it's very good for the NRA to use youth and others outside of the normal old white guy to help spread the right messages.
