  1. Very well done. I have sent him several with a similar message; I am now going to shift my focus to his future in politics on the national level. Keep up the good work
  2. Count me in as well, both finiacially and in terms of logistics, research, etc.
  3. States should be tripping over each other trying to convince companies that manufacture in NYS to move to their home state. God knows NJ could use some of those jobs. Think about the impact that moving a manufacturing facility from NYS to Newark, Camden or Trenton would have. Couple that with some job skills training that was subsidized by the state (programs that already exist and I have used in the past).
  4. Another update- 55 days and counting for change of address on FID only, called and asked if there were any problems, anything I could do, etc. and was informed that everyting is in order and they would call when it is ready.
  5. I emailed yesterday, called and faxed today and am working on getting my wife to do the same.
  6. I am in central Jersey and am going on 55 days for a change of address
  7. Here is the link, looks like there is a bit more on this fine upstanding senator from NJ- http://news.yahoo.com/report-menendez-emails-sought-aid-donors-firm-170822602--politics.html
  8. Yes Christie does need to sign this, but who is to say that he won't? Or that he vetoes this version and is then presented a second or third version as a "compromise"? And I also believe that a 2/3 vote can override a veto.
  9. So...it can be done in less than 4 months! Don't rub it in, been waiting since 12/18!
  10. Here is what I just sent in- Dear members of the assembly, I am writing to let you know that I am opposed to the proposed anti-gun violence bills. I hope that you realize that these bills will not have any impact on gun violence but will only make gun ownership more difficult for law abiding citizens like myself. An example is the fact that I am currently waiting over 50 days for a change of address on my FID, the paperwork was submitted on 12/18/12 and after several trips to the NJSP station is still not complete. I have heard from others applying for these permits that the actual lead time is 3 to 6 months as opposed to the original 30 day mandate, this is worrisome. I also do not think any real improvement in gun violence will occur until there are substantial improvements in the opportunities and job prospects afforded to young people in inner cities. I, along with many of my peers are concerned with the amount of effort that is being wasted on these proposed bills when time and effort should be directed towards more important issues such as economic development, education, job training and trying to entice business to move to New Jersey. Come next election we will be looking very closely at the time and resources that were spent on these anti-gun violence bills as opposed to making real progress toward improving the lives and opportunities for those in need. Can I ask why there has been no attempt to engage firearms manufacturing companies in upstate NY in dialog about moving to New Jersey and bringing with them several thousand good paying manufacturing jobs? And proposing covenants that would allow them to hire a minimum percentage of their employees locally? All while partnering with the state to provide training for those positions as well providing a continuous pipeline of trained individuals for those companies to hire? Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance.
  11. Not that I have ever gone there, but after this I definitely won't, wow is right!
  12. Welcome to the forum!
  13. I applied for a replacement FID as well, also change of address, on 12/18/12 and am still waiting.
  14. I think they would be legal since they are bolt action and not semi-auto
  15. Like I said before, I am sure glad there is nothing else that needs to be done in this state other than pass more useless gun laws!
  16. Used this to educate my wife and a few of her friends, worked very well.
  17. I just saw this, and if I am reading it correctly there are democrats in the house that are introducing bills that would decriminalize marijuana use and leave it up to the states to decide on the legality? This is the same house that feels the federal government needs more laws on gun control. Once again, it appears as though there are no more pressing issues for our lawmakers to deal with. So, pot is good guns are bad? I just don't see the reasoning here, please correct me if I am wrong. http://health.yahoo.net/news/s/nm/democratic-lawmakers-seek-to-decriminalize-and-tax-pot
  18. Much appreciated, and I can say that I did hear some of this before in grad school. But it is good to get a refresher.
  19. A quick update, sent in paperwork for a change of address back on 12/18, NJSP are now contacting references. looks like it is going to be a bit longer, just venting I guess
