  1. Hm. I have no plan to purchase a handgun in the near future but might have to test this. With an iPhone recording of coarse.
  2. The recent threads of PDs being douches in regards to FIDs and P2P, I realized I have a question. Generally, my town has been really good about things, no crazy delays and always take the applications as long as I bring it in during business hours. Last time I applied for P2Ps I was told that if my FID was issued more than 5 years prior to applying for a P2P, new fingerprinting is required. Is this true? At the time I had one re-issued due to an address changes less than 3 years before that P2P app so it was a non issue. But should I choose to apply for another P2P next week, it owuld be over the 5 years. Having to do fingerprints again would suck. Thanks!
  3. Would not work in EB. Oddly enough they are pretty good about it. The women at the Records desk gave me applications every time I asked. She looked at me sideways when I asked for a CCW application but gave it to me anyway. You hand your application in to them and they accept it anytime during business hours, take you $ and done. The Detective that did my fingerprinting for my initial FID (when it was still inc fingerprints) and the one who did the same for my Florida CCW had no problem doing it, though that was during a ridiculously short time window only 2 days a week. I guess some towns are worse than others. Seems that the more "urban" areas are far worse.
  4. Not as exciting as the first one. Hope this guy gets fired and looses his pension and CCW. Becomes a proll like the rest of us.
  5. $200 for 6 hours? Yes, I understand the convenience of an indoor range, and RTSP has one of the nicest ranges I have ever been to, but for that $, I would recommend looking elsewhere... For the same cost per hour you can get a Vickers, Hackathorn, McNamara, Pannone, etc. At the risk of sounding like a training snob, those guys know their sh*t. No snub to the instructors at RTSP, but they don't have their instructors credentials listed on the website (not that I could find), so its hard to make the call that asking for the same cost/hour is justified. They come around to PA and CT quite often. Like I said, RTSP has the continence factor, but IMHO, that's about it. Class will be smaller at RTSP for sure FWIW. Okay, Flame Away.
  6. HAHAHA Just realized that I totally recognize the voice of the guy wearing the camera. LOL Known him since 2001 Willing to put $ down lol. Good job dude!
  7. This ass clown should loose his badge. I don't know how the guy in the video stayed this calm. I would have raked him over the coals about the Unconstitutionality of his statements and beliefs.
  8. I spoke with them via FB on the 13th of Nov. They changed the markings to say "47S" instead of "AK47" the "S" is for stamped receiver. The milled ones will supposedly say "DDI47M" Contacted Atlantic Firearms and they said that all the wood furniture models they have (had) in stock say "47S" I was going to order one today but they are not sold out right now . If you can order one, I'm there.
  9. What I mean by "Fan Fiction" is that it was a per project by an outdoor enthusiast. It was distributed as shareware for people to enjoy until it got traction. Then he went to people who knew how to publish books.
  10. Vapor barrier? Doubt it. Moisture Barrier most likely. A lot of things that are labeled as vapor barriers, are not. To be a true vapor barrier, the material needs to be somewhere below .01 Perms. Most of the stuff you find at HD is closer to 0.1. Really a vapor retarder. You will still get moisture in the floor. And if a true vapor barrier is installed above the slab, you will have moist concrete in an enclosed space with no air movement. You know what that means = mold. You need to pick an engineered floor which is made to be installed over a slab. Pergo is a great choice. Also note, there are two grades of Pergo. I have their commercial product in my kitchen and it is damn near indestructible. Gets wet, no problem. Drop a pot on it, no dent, no scratch. Not sure how well the residential stuff will stand up. Otherwise, tile or carpet.
  11. I love the 10-8 sights on my M&P. Im pretty sure they make a suppressor/optics height set as well.
  12. My LaRue guns have hard chromed bolts, deff easier to clean that the BCM bolt carrier groups I have in other guns. Other than that, doubt anything else is better.
  13. Lights Out was essentially fan fiction that hit well. First was disbursed via PDF and later, after many requests it was printed. One Second After was created after the writer read a report on the vulnerability of the US to an EMP attack and it is actually talked about in the book by the main character. A few years later he released One Year After as a follow up. Both stories were inspired by Alas Babylon. Written in 1959 by Pat Frank.
  14. For sure! I listen to audiobooks at my desk at work. Listened to the first three books of The Song of Ice and Fire in the last month. Holy crap! 40+ hours each! Just saying I still prefer a physical book. When I worked in NYC and took the bus I listened to Howard Stern tho lol.
  15. So, Vlad, every FFL and every person in NJ who owns something that looks like what Mr Kalashnikov supposedly invented is a felon? That sucks.
  16. I thought we were talking about this: http://www.amazon.com/Lights-Out-David-Crawford/dp/0615427359/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1447268527&sr=8-2&keywords=lights+out+book I downloaded it when it was free online. Started reading it but I just cant get into reading my iPad and I am not about to print out 611 pages. From what I understand it is very similar to One Second After. You mean One Second After? One Year After IS the sequel. I have One Year After hardcover on the book shelf. Going to read it on vacation. Just something about a physical book that is preferential for me over digital media or audiobook. No Idea why.
  17. Confirmed from a retailer that the new DDIs they have say "47S" and not "AK47" NICE! Now the waiting game begins for my tax return lol.
  18. Freakin' sweet! Now, wonder if the models Atlantic Firearms have are the changed ones. They have a nice wood furniture model I would love to make my first AK. Just need someone to take off the bayo lug and pin the slant brake.
  19. I have a couple e-mails from them where they said it said "AK 47" Did they change the roll mark? I have an e-mail from Steve D at DDI "Yes the stamped has AK47 and the milled has AK-47" The E-mail exchange was July 17. Maybe the changed it?
  20. Love the rifle with no sights. WTF? How accurate could you possibly be without shouldering the weapon? Just seems like a useless toy to burn through ammo and barrels with.
  21. Impressed with the veriaty of opinion. Just like anything else in Nj that is gun related, no one knows lol.
  22. What say y'all? Would attach to the SureFire brake. Not a suppressor, not designed to hide flash. No real need for it, just wondering. Discuss.
  23. Pissed me off that my FL non-resident permit was not valid when I was in Myrtle Beach this past summer
  24. Was just wondering. I would figure I would not carry until crossing into VA airspace. I would keep the guns locked up in the back like I would in a car lol. Not like I'm about to rent a plane to fly to NC.
