Do we have to "declare" if we're pulled over?
Stonecoldchavez replied to deerpark's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Probable cause needed for search warrant. "Reasonable suspicion" is enough to pull you over. Your other suggestions are good points to do. -
Prosecutors can and/or do carry. Their choice. They are considered LEO by the State/County. Superior court judges do/can carry. Each county has a Superior Court Judge who hears concealed-carry permit or regular permit denials by local police municipalities. Are S.C.J's issued 'carry permits'? Yes. They have to apply to the Judge who hears permit denials. Who is going question the Men In Black Robes though? No one.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-01-31/connecticut-gun-law-passed-after-sandy-hook-ruled-legal.html?cmpid=yhoo Unbelievable. Constitution be damned....The Judge is setting this up for appeal. What is more laughable is the comments section below by the anti-gun nuts there. They really think this ruling and CT gun laws are going to protect people. My apologies Dan.

$100 for the permit, renewable each year? Plus the courses. Sorry if I am not jumping for joy here fellows. Why should we have to pay anything that is a fundamental (Bill of Rights) right? It is nothing but another fee/tax on us. And renewable each year? It will be way more than $100. This is just a money grabbing bill. It never gets out of committee anyway.

Same record; different year by the Democrats in this state. If Christie wants to be President he will veto all or most of the these bills. My problem is what happens in 2016 when he is no longer here and the Democrats ram these bills through yet again with a Democrat as Governor? We are all fooked then. I cannot believe some of the more assinine bills they have proposed this year. None will do anything to prevent criminals and inner-city thugs from killing each. "Requires firearms endorsement on driver's license or non-driver identification card." WTF for? Or the $100 permit fee (ahem, tax)?

Congrats! Awesome dogs. Mine just turned three.

I agree with you 100%. So DMV gave you a license plate for you quad? Interesting. I know in Wharton State Forest the Park Police will pull over/chase people/impound bikes. I would love to go down to H & M to ride one day.

How did you renew it? When they run your VIN number it will come up as "For Offroad Use Only". They do for dirt bikes. I inquired to get my ATC registered and DMV said no way. Even the local dealership told me only dual sports can get registered. Also, coming from dirtbike/atc/atv forums, it is not good to post riding spots (illegal) in public forum. We always sent PM's to people about riding spots.

Pure political posturing for Christie. He is not helping us. His non-involvement is so it cannot be thrown in his face two years from now on the national stage when he is looking for the nomination. -
They don't register them because you need turn signals on them. Like an enduro/dual sport. Quads don't come with turn signals.

What are people putting for reason? "Each person applying for a Permit to Carry and Handgun must supply a letter of need, specific in content, as to why they have a need to carry a firearm in the State of New Jersey. If this application is employment-related, then your employer must supply this letter. List the reason for this application:"

Article in today's Burlington County Times. http://www.burlingtoncountytimes.com/news/local/amid-shortage-police-departments-stockpile-ammo/article_6e5f82df-6c60-5d19-9c25-3720898f2e19.html I found quite a few errors in the article. "For example, in Medford, the number of people issued permits to carry handguns increased from 226 to 490 between 2011 and 2013." No one can carry. I believe it should have read permits to purchase handguns. "Most police officers carry .45 caliber guns, the same type used by the military, Eliason said." News to me. I thought most depts. use .40cal or 9mm?

Good Entry Level "Off The Shelf" Buy
Stonecoldchavez replied to gleninjersey's topic in AR Discussion
Thanks. Unfortunately, I found this website AFTER I bought my first AR. lol. At the time I had a budget of around $1k. My coworker told me about Noveske, LMT, DD, and LWRC. Way out of my price range for a first AR. He tried to talk me into building my first AR (with his help), but I wanted something as a shooter out of the box (as I was not sure I would like the platform coming from pistols only). I have learned a lot from being here and have accessorized my AR accordingly from recommendations here. My only question, is what constitutes a "good trigger"? I understand take-up and creep. I like the trigger on my SWMP15T. I tried my co-workers Colt and did not like it. Not sure what the term is - gap between trigger pulls. Which my AR does not have. I guess if I tried one with an aftermarket trigger I would feel the difference. -
I see both sides, but agree with your Uncle. I am on FB and would never post pictures of what I have. People or the gov't don't need to know what I have (even though the gov't already knows). My close friends know what I have. That being said, I express my 2nd rights and issues all the time on FB. My Uncle does so also and he lives in CO. You have to be smart about what you post anywhere online as it is out there forever. It is up to you, I would appease him and then do what you want.

Good Entry Level "Off The Shelf" Buy
Stonecoldchavez replied to gleninjersey's topic in AR Discussion
Since I was new to the AR platform and knew nothing about them, a co-worker recommended that I get the S&W M&P15FT as my first AR. I did and I love it. It does everthing I need it to do right now. After being here for awhile, and if I decide to get another AR, I may decide to build my own. But as a "newbie" I had no idea on what parts were good or junk. -
I went to the show on Sunday. There bright and early. No lines to get in like this past spring. I was surprised and disappointed. Lots of vendors but not as many people as I have seen at past shows. New rifle prices were high. I saw some decent prices for used guns though. I bought some military ammo guns, extra new Glock magazines, and some AR cleaning tools/supplies. Took me about 3.5 hours to walk the place. Surprised to see full-auto's for sale. One vendor had an Uzi for sale for $4500.00. I had a few good laughs with vendors when looking at their stuff and having to tell them I am from the PRNJ. They told me I need to move out of NJ. lol. Saw the Santa girls out front. They were handing out 10% discount cards off ammo from CNC Survival supply. Another vendor was there selling a sliding butt stock to make a semi-auto AR, AK, or shotgun fire in full auto mode. Interesting concept, But I told him it is most likely illegal to have in NJ. S.

I didn't go wireless. I use a Bushnell trail camera on my property. It can do motion video or 3-shot picture bursts in HD. Pictures are excellant and date/time stamped. Got the camera at Amazon. $ 199.00. Takes a lot of batties (8 AA), but are supposed to last a year.

The Ducati 1098 took a trip and didnt come back
Stonecoldchavez replied to Shane45's topic in General Discussion
I see you like Italian bikes. If you like the Tuono, you should have looked at the Triumph Speed Triple. I have one. Great all-around bike. Cheaper than the Aprilia and easier to maintain. -
I have a 2000 Nissan Xterra with 182,000 miles on it. Runs like a champ; burns no oil. Ran synthetic in it since its first oil change. First Mobil 1 then I switched over to Royal Purple. Change my oil every 5,000 miles. I use Royal Purple in the front and rear differentials also. S.
