Mag question.........
JohnnyB replied to xXxplosive's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
External hollow point is an oxymoron. It's a sales gimmick to let people know it performs like a hollow point but without the hole or the expansion. -
Mag question.........
JohnnyB replied to xXxplosive's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
The nose of the bullet is not hollow therefore they are not hollow points. They do not expand on impact and are not prohibited. @$35.00 for a box of 20, they are expensive as heck! Just yesterday I paid the same $35.00 for a 50 round box of Critical Duty 135gr. 9mm. -
So that is where they wound up!

What should we expect........
JohnnyB replied to xXxplosive's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I probably would in that case simply because I am interacting with the LEO in his official capacity. Kind of a grey area. -
His ban certainly effected me.....I had to buy a case of 1,000 on Amazon just to say FPM! It felt good!

No restrictions for CCW in a supermarket. He could walk right past the cops and say hi to them. No duty to inform unless they confront him in an official capacity. -
Ok to drop loose round into the chamber?

Can I Carry a Weapon At My Place of Business
JohnnyB replied to EdF's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
"If the lease or rental agreement is in your name, you're considered to be "in possession" of the property, and may carry there as long as there's nothing in your lease that forbids it." That covers your Mom but I don't know about you and your sister. -
I believe it would be multiple transfer fees but only 1 NICS. The last thing I need is another AR platform rifle! PS, Lowers are easy to build.

What is your lead mitigation protocol?
JohnnyB replied to TacticalLawyer's topic in General Discussion
Gun for hire has excellent ventilation so I don't see where you or your clothing are being exposed to unsafe levels of lead. Anthony @gunforhire can you please chime in here regarding lead levels at your range? -
You would have to speak with your FFL. The plug would need to be pinned or glued somehow to make it compliant before the FFL can release the gun to you.

Put a plug in the tube.

Mag question.........

Clearly, .22LR will not feed nor function from standard .223 mags. You need the mags that come with the conversion kit! Try it yourself! -
Wayne LaPierre announces resignation as NRA chief

This is a very good start though! -
Wayne LaPierre announces resignation as NRA chief! Effective Jan, 31 https://www.foxnews.com/politics/wayne-lapierre-announces-resignation-nra-chief?fbclid=IwAR0eOfKdy_gj6XQ8pAx5dXecYhip5RC00n7KLPZnHAJggC8xIznQRUetjUw

You are good to go!
-
Not if I buy it from my LGS. My LGS charges $70 plus NICS for a transfer so I would avoid the transfer fee just to buy it from him.
-
Not really! I could buy the stripped Anderson lower for about $60 from my LGS with no $70 transfer fee. Then order a lower parts kit, muzzle brake, stock and complete upper for about $400. I can do my own compliance work and have a crappy but custom AR15 for less than $500. I would rather buy once and cry once and have a quality rifle that I can trust not to fail on me at the wrong time!
-
Great deal but it has a 30 round mag that PA could refuse to ship to the PRNJ and the rifle has an A2 birdcage that the FFL doing the transfer would have to replace, so your FFL would need to have a gunsmith. Between the transfer fee and compliance work this may not be so worth doing in the end.

If you want the steaks uniform with clean cuts, partially freeze the meat until just firm. Makes the whole process easier and cleaner.

A great choice at a fantastic price! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004RFMT?linkCode=ogi&tag=ghk-lift-20&ascsubtag=[artid|10055.g.646[src|arb_ga_ghk_md_dsa_comm_mix_us_19784306540[ch|e989061d33d98be2899a6f925658cb24[lt|psv[pid|ae397b50-15db-417d-acaa-434e38e5a644[ofsxid|button_poc[ofsvid|lt_t[ofsxid|jam_ab[ofsvid|weekly[ofsxid|show_header_search[ofsvid|show_search[ofsxid|subx_vs_jam[ofsvid|subx&th=1

NJ CCW Question(s) - 2
JohnnyB replied to diamondd817's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I believe Hornady has already done that performance test for you! Defense was designed to perform better in a short barrel and Duty for the longer one found in full size pistols. Look at the expansion with the Defense, Duty sucks in that test! https://www.luckygunner.com/labs/self-defense-ammo-ballistic-tests/#9mm
