  1. Won't let me upload, says the file is too big? Any suggestions?
  2. I have one too, and it's very picky with ammo. It's fun to shoot, and sometimes frustrating at the same time.
  3. Might want to order the caliber exchange from Sig. When you register your p226 online for warranty info, you get a 20% off coupon if you buy directly from them. It's back ordered on their site, and don't know the potential stock date, but it will save a large chunk of cash.
  4. Is that a government sized? I thought the new r51 was supposed to be compact?
  5. That's disappointing. Hope to see more reviews as they come available.
  6. Me too. The price is attractive too. If the MSRP is $389, wonder what LGS will be selling it for.
  7. Welcome. I am looking into getting the slide of a pistol done and I am located very close to you, great knowing there is a local vendor!
  8. What was their turn around time!?!
  9. I dropped in last week and spoke to one of the owners. He seems like a great guy and is doing some work on my fathers old revolver. They had a decent selection on handguns, and seemed to have a good amount of ammo. Will def. be going back in the future.
  10. I have a P2P and want one too.... I think I read online sometime in February.... Gonna have to get it extended....
  11. I've had good experiences there too. The guys behind the counter are knowledgable and good guys.
  12. I sent him an email this afternoon about a rebluing job on an old Colt pistol. Hopefully he gets back to me. I have heard great things about his work.
  13. I love everything about the m&p series, looks , ergonomics, but hated the stock trigger. I don't like the over travel of the trigger after it breaks. No matter how slow I went, and how much I focused on the trigger pull, the over travel after the trigger broke always threw off my shots. I almost sold the pistol because of this. Once I put in the Apex kit, I fell in love with the pistol. A 1911 style trigger in a non 1911 platform, as I said before, though the barrel length is short, it's a bullseye shooter!
  14. I typically conceal with a galco kingtuk. Very comfortable.
  15. That picture explains it all, and the difference is pretty significant. I am gonna buy a new buffer And get the fixed carbine stock. Thank you for the visual!
  16. Kit came with two different springs, one that makes trigger weight somewhere in the 2 range, and another that puts it in the 5 range. I have the 5lb spring in, I just love the smooth trigger of the Apex, very similar to that of 1911.
  17. I love my Mp40c. Put an APEX trigger kit in it and now it's a bullseye shooter. I have been in NC for a week straight, and it has been my CCW everyday. What a great little pistol.
  18. They said they will accept repairs but metal refinishing will not accepted. I asked when they might be able to accept it and didn't get a firm answer. I plan on calling back Monday.
  19. Did you buy it with the Nib-x or did you get it done somewhere locally?
  20. I have checked the colt website and called them, they are currently not accepting refinishing/metal work. I won't be receiving the pistol until next week sometime, and the metal might be fine. I am more concerned with an inspection/safety of the firearm. I see heritage guild in Rahway has a gunsmith, anyone ever used him or seen his work?
  21. My dad retired after 37 years of being a LEO and is moving down to South Carolina in a few months. When he first started working back in the 70's he had to purchase his own firearm. He used the Colt Lawman mkiii in .357 magnum. Because of the move, and my love for shooting, he said he will give me the firearm. Remixer will be handling the transfer, but does anyone know a good gunsmith in central NJ that would be able to inspect it and possibly reblue it? Though it's a family heirloom, it won't be a safe queen, I want to take it out, and I want to know its safe. He said he hasn't used it in over 30 years and I rather it not explode in my hands. I am located in Old Bridge if this helps. Thanks in advance for the input.
  22. My father bought me a Daisy 880 pump BB gun was I was 7. Shot many thousands of metal cans in my back yard. Graduated to a compound bow and different caliber rifles through the years. My father and grandfather were both LEO, and my father was a NYS certified pistol instructor and was his departments firearm instructors for years, and he got me into handguns when I was 18. The first handgun I ever shot was his Glock 22 service gun. I was hooked. I still go with him routinely to the range, and though he's in his 60s, he still out shoots me. This evening he finely gave in and said he will transfer me his old Colt Trooper revolver he used back in the 70's as his duty weapon! Pretty excited to have it, I've been wanting it for years.
  23. Thats usually what happens to me.... Transfer gets done very quickly, and I spend tons of time talking..... Steve is a great guy....... I will call you sometime this week(or next week) to talk about my next transfer
