Yesterday's shoot created another convert. A friend of mine who just inherited a .410 from his father brought it out to the shoot so he could learn how to use it (never fired ANY gun before yesterday). RF spent a few minutes with him going over the rules and giving him a good explanation of how the gun works and the differences between his and others...he really appreciated that someone would take the time to provide that level of information and make sure he was comfortable with shooting. He insisted I take the first shot and then he tried it....you couldn't have wiped the grin off his face with a wire brush. Then he took a few shots with a 12 ga...bigger grin and something about "gotta get me one of those". He had a great time and will be back...thanks to Drez and everyone else who made him feel welcome at a place that he would have been extremely uncomfortable with otherwise. I stopped @ Modells on Rt. 46 coming home from Montclair and asked if they carried ammo. The girl at the counter said no, we don't and then gave me directions to a gun shop. It was too far out of my way so I didn't go but I was surprised that they were that cooperative. This signature is AWESOME!!!

That's for a non-resident permit. If you're a SC resident, you are eligible if you aren't a prohibited person. Edit: reading through the SC Concealed Weapons laws, it looks like I will be exempt from the fee when I move there...(insert happy dance here). This signature is AWESOME!!!

I guess BATFE uses "Core Curriculum" math because last time I checked, .214" was smaller than .223". This signature is AWESOME!!!

If you read through the comments at the first link, you'll see that 5.45 ammo doesn't meet the ATF definition of AP ammo because it's smaller than .22 caliber. They are applying "assault weapons" cosmetic logic to this ammo import ban. This signature is AWESOME!!!

Went shooting with the Mrs. @ HG in Easton yesterday and bought these for $21/box. They had an abundance of .22lr yesterday but I think they limit to 1 box/person...haven't tried to buy more than one at a time cuz it takes the full hour+ to shoot the whole box.

Check out Sarco if you're set on an 870. But that 590 sounds like it's worth a look. Or, a couple weeks ago, The Owl's Nest in Alpha had a nice 870 for around $450-$500 (IIRC). Might be worth calling to see if it's still there. This signature is AWESOME!!!

I've checked Jim Flynn's prices against online sellers and, by the time you add shipping, transfer, and NICS, he's usually within a few dollars. I was buying clays & 12 ga. target loads @ Walmart in Easton until I realized that Jim has both cheaper (by a few dollars) and closer...135 clays for $11.50 and Estate #8 target loads for $61/case. This signature is AWESOME!!!
