Different gun. Edit - I stand corrected. I thought he was referring to a CZ "Scorpion". http://cz-usa.com/hammer/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/CZ14_Scorpion_EVO3_S1-L-e1416840329704.png

No. It can't have a hand guard/barrel shroud.
  3. I went with a double barrel coach gun.
  4. I was there on Friday. It was absolutely packed. I wanted to get on the 50 yard range to sight in a new scope on my rifle (the only reason I really went there) but they were only letting members in. Waited almost an hour for the 25 yard. I knew it would be crowded since most people had the day off but I've never seen it that busy. I've been there numerous times before but not in the last year or so.
  5. Ian, thanks for all the info. I'll definitely be checking it out. It's close and the price is right. The membership dues are very reasonable as well. It certainly seems like something I'd enjoy and I'll most likely end up joining the club too. Now I'll have an excuse to buy more shotguns. Thanks again.
  6. I was just looking at their pricing. $5 per round (25). Does that include the clays or do you bring your own. Also, how crowded does it get on days it's open to the public? I mostly shoot Standard Pistol matches but I picked up a SxS recently and want to get into shotguns. This club is only 30 minutes from me.
  7. I never heard of Thunder Mountain until now. It looks like a great place. I picked up a Stoeger Coach Gun a few weeks ago and was thinking about trying out some clay shooting. My cousin has been to Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays and I was going to try that out but TM is a lot closer (1h 15m). I may have to find a friend to drag along for the ride.
  8. I was helping with a class a few weeks ago and a student was shooting one with a Fast Fire dot mounted on it. He was getting almost all of them in the black at 25 yards, so it's a pretty accurate little gun if you do your part. The Ruger SR22 is a good little pistol as well.
  9. Mattio41- If you can send me that flyer, or post a link to it here, I'll print and post it in my club and make an announcement about it at the next club meeting.
  10. +1. I have a full size 75b but have been eyeing a used compact model at the LGS. You can't go wrong with a CZ, great guns. Coincidently, my permit expires on the 20th as well.
  11. A nice chilled glass of "Roca" Patron Silver.
  12. Who doesn't like mag dumps with a 15/22? My neighbors 12yo daughter comes with us to the range once in a while and my 15/22 is her "go to" gun. I'm constantly telling her to slow down and breath. She really gets a kick out of it though.
  13. Well, I assume it was the owner that I was dealing with since it was the same guy every time I went in. I found him to be somewhat rude, dismissive, and generally unhelpful. The first time I went in was simply to check the place out and look around. I didn't really engage him but he certainly didn't seem interested in talking to me. (Every one has a bad day, not knowing him I didn't hold it against him). The second time I had a permit and cash in my pocket and was looking for a CZ75. I asked him if he had one, he said "No" and simply walked away, no further discussion. I went back once more looking for something and he was more interested in talking a friend who was hanging out then dealing with me as a customer. I went back one more time because a friend was looking for a specific muzzle brake for his AR build and their web sight showed it to be in stock. I was curious to tag along and see how his experience was. They didn't have the part in stock. He said they expected it to come in some time that week. My buddy wanted to give him his phone number so he could be called when it was in and the salesman (owner?) refused. He said he wouldn't remember to call and suggested my friend call the shop every few days to see if it was in. We left, drove 30 minutes to Garden State Armory and ordered the brake. Two days later Art(?) called and told him it was in and would be there waiting for him when he was able to pick it up. Bullseye is 5 minutes from my home and would be my go to store if I wasn't so turned off by multiple experiences. Also, I'm not a "window shopper". I shoot twice a week on average and I've purchased 11 guns in the last 22 months. I typically have a pretty good idea of what I want when I walk into a shop. If the salesman spends a little time with me they're pretty much always going to make a sale. I don't expect someone to kiss my ass but when I'm dropping $600-$1200 on a single item I do expect a certain degree of attention paid to me. I would prefer to drive further and pay more money for a gun then to do business there.
  14. Bullseye Tactical on main street in Woodbridge is by far the worst shop I have been in. The owner is a complete A-hole. Because they're local, I went in on 3 separate occasions, even though I got a bad vibe on the 1st visit. I even went back with a friend who was determined to spend money there because they were close by and had an item he wanted in stock. He ended up leaving with his money still in his pocket. I steered him to Garden State Armory instead. They didn't have what he wanted but were friendly and professional and ordered the item for him. Great group of guys there. They always greet you by name after your first visit. I also buy a lot from The Heritage Guild of Rahway. Their prices are a bit on the high side but I'm willing to pay a little extra for the convenience.
  15. Some nice benches you guys have there. I wasn't willing to give up space in my workshop for reloading so I squeezed it into my utility room. I made due with the space I had:
  16. Actually it is. Basically the same laws that apply to hand guns to hollow points. You can posses them in your home and you can travel to and from the range with them but they must be kept out of reach or locked in the vehicle. ______________________________________________________ Provided certain conditions are met, a sportsman may transport and use hollow point ammunition. There are no restrictions preventing a sportsman from keeping such ammunition at his home. N.J.S.A 2C:39-3f(1) limits the possession of hollow nose ammunition. However, there is a general exception that allows for the purchase of this ammunition but restricts the possession of it to specified locations. This exception provides that: (2) Nothing is sub section f (1) shall be construed to prevent a person from keeping such ammunition at his dwelling, premises or other land owned or possessed by him, or from carrying such ammunition from the place of purchase to said dwelling or land . . . [N.J.S.A 26:39-3g (2)]. Thus a person may purchase this ammunition and keep it within the confines of his property. Sub section f (1) further exempts from the prohibited possession of hollow nose ammunition "persons engaged in activities pursuant to N.J.S.A 2C:39-6f. . . ." N.J.S.A 26:39-3f. (1). Activities contained in N.J.S.A 26:39-6f. can be broken down as follows: A member of a rifle or pistol club organized under rules of the National Board for the Promotion of Rifle Practice and which filed its charter with the State Police; A person engaged in hunting or target practice with a firearm legal for hunting in this State; A person going directly to a target range, and; A person going directly to an authorized place for "practice, match, target, trap or skeet shooting exhibitions." ___________________________________ As with other ammunition and firearms, a sportsman would have to comply with the provisions of N.J.S.A 2C:39-6f and g when transporting hollow nose ammunition to a target range. The ammunition should be stored in a closed and fastened container or locked in the trunk of the motor vehicle in which it is being transported. The course of travel should be as direct as possible when going to and leaving from the target range with "only such deviations as are reasonably necessary under the circumstances." N.J.S.A 2C:39-6g. If the sportsman's club member plans to hunt with a rifle and use hollow nose ammunition in a state where this is permitted, he must comply with the provisions of U.S.C.A. 926A and N.J.S.A 2C:39-6(f) and (6)(g), which is consistent with the federal law, in transporting the firearm and ammunition. The firearm should be unloaded and neither the firearm nor the ammunition should be readily accessible from the passenger compartment. If the vehicle does not have a trunk, the firearm and the ammunition should be contained in a locked container other than the glove compartment or the console. 18 U.S.C.A. 926A.
  17. I've spoken to LEOs in NJ who think hollow points are illegal to posses (except by them). I've tried to explain that they're pretty much regulated by the same rules as pistols but they just don't want to accept it. (Strange that I can buy bulk boxes of 500 HPs when they're "illegal"). From what I understand, a few people have gotten a pretty good chunk of change from the state for false arrest regarding HPs.
  18. Well, like I said, "Good Luck". Hope it works out. Keep us updated. If you guys get it we'll all know who to petition for help. If he does actually help it will likely just be to keep the % of approvals up to back the states claim that a majority who apply get approved. But it's a start anyway and would set a precedent.
  19. Did he take down everyone's name so he could "help"? Keep in mind you need the local police chief and a judge to sign off. I doubt you all live in the same town so, that's a lot of people for him to contact and convince to approve the paperwork. He would have to have some serious clout. Forgive me for being pessimistic. Good luck though.
  20. I do. I currently have 2 for sale. One has a stained finish and the other is wrapped in a vinyl/leather material and painted black on the inside but with the same stained drawer and gun holder as the first. PM me for price if you're interested. I'm in Woodbridge.
  21. This is my range "Bag". Works very well for me.
