  1. They have no choice but to look at it again. Based on the recent decision in NY the NJ bill/law would have been DOA as it stood...
  2. Could be. In my case I think most of the time was spent with my local PD. At least 75 days there.
  3. Just checked online and my money order was cashed today, so that's progress. Morris county, so probably within the next 3 weeks I SHOULD be complete. I'm at about 105 days as of now.
  4. Agree. Mine has been there almost 30 days without movement/notice and money order not cashed...
  5. I'll be checking with the court this week to see if they can provide some kind of idea where my application sits. I submitted my application to PD on July 26, and i received notice on October 12 that it was with the court, so I'm over 110 day s total and approaching 30 with the court. EDIT - Just got off the phone with the court. The VERY nice woman who answered the phone advised that there was a huge influx of applications and people calling for status updates, so she took my information and forwarded it on to one of the administrators who would follow up with me.
  6. Jeeze. Guess there are still a lot of folks picking up their carry guns. Glad i took care of it last year...
  7. Cripes. You'd figure the residence of the Speaker of the House would have some kind of security in place??? Glad they caught the guy...
  8. How many do they throw? I'm usually good when I'm shooting clays with my kids, but I don't hit 100% of them...
  9. What kind of ammo? Brand? Brass or steel case? Corrosive or non-corrosive? Milsurplus or civilian?
  10. Right. I presumed people would read that as a regular posters here should, but I'll update to: NJ started processing carry permits for regular citizens for the first time EVER in June. Prior to that it was a secretive, elitist process where only retired LEO's, the very wealthy, and politically connected could receive them.
  11. I don't necessarily disagree. The "intentional" part may not apply in all cases, but the effects are certainly happening.
  12. Again, I appreciate your frustration, in reality, permits are being processed. Slowly, and not in every jurisdiction, but they are being processed. That's never been done before in NJ. If everyone waited until the process was "worked out" somehow, there would have been zero progress. Respectfully, you were kidding yourself if you somehow thought is would be a quick/easy process. NJ started processing carry permits for the first time EVER in June. There was nothing in place to support the number of applications that would be submitted and NJ politics would try to slow things at every opportunity. I know waiting for something you want is a bother, but more progress has been made in the last 4 months than had been in the last 50 years. If you're not serious about carrying a firearm then just withdraw your application and forget about it. One less stress point in your life.
  13. I appreciate your frustration (I'm at 91 days) but IMO it's very important that people DO apply. It may seem like they're ignoring things, but it's absolutely something that's taking up space in their brains. I'm sure some are waiting for legislation to pass that will cancel the process and revert to the old way, but that's not going to happen. They are not allowed to throw the applications away, and since there are guidelines that dictate how they're supposed to move (60 days at PD, 30 Days at court) there will come a breaking point where they will be compelled to move them. You're the "tip of the spear" on this so your process isn't going to be smooth sailing...
  14. Indeed. I have three friends in my 'inner circle' who are cops (one recently retired) and they're all honest enough to acknowledge that the rules that apply to the rest of us do not extend to them. "Professional courtesy" gets them out of trouble with each other, and horseshit like 'disorderly conduct' or 'not following a lawful order' are used when they're interacting with someone who is "pissing them off" or being "rude or disrespectful".
  15. You're an adult, so you can do what you want, but I don't think it's the best course of action. You will presumably have permit in hand for the first time ever after PD's and courts had to do a complete 180 degree turn based on a change that went into effect in late June. IMO you'd be better served thanking the PD for processing it and telling them you're looking forward to seeing them again in the future for renewal. Do you plan to hire a lawyer and spend thousands trying to collect damages of some kind? What do you think will come from filing your complaint?
  16. Good question. I can't imagine they spend time doing additional 'research', so they likely just review what's provided by the PD and weigh against whatever recommendation comes with it.
  17. I don't think everyone HAS to go through the process, but if you're even remotely interested in carrying then I think you should do so as soon as possible. The more people who go through the process NOW, the better. It forces local/state PD's and court systems to recognize that the law has changed and they must issue. It forces them to make processing carry permits as part of their "business as usual" activities. Yes, the legislature will act like spoiled children and do everything they can to cock-block things, but eventually they will lose because of Bruen. If everyone said "screw it...I'll wait until things are perfect" there would be zero progress and change wouldn't happen. I'm just about at 90 days in and I don't have a permit, but I'm pressing my local PD and they just advised that my application is "with the court". I have no illusions that I'll have the permit soon, but I've waited 50 years, so i'm not in a hurry. Once i get it I understand that it will take several months/years for the stupid restrictions to go away in court challenges, but that's come with being part of the change process. I encourage you and everyone else on the fence to get on board now. Someone previously reminded us that Rome wasn't built in a day...
  18. I sent an e-mail to all assembly and senate members asking them to NOT consider the bill and strongly oppose it. I'll ask my wife and kids to do the same. Not a huge impact, but it's something...
  19. I appreciate where you're coming from, and you're an adult so you can do whatever you want, but IMO patience is an important thing to exercise right now. Until June of this year there was ZERO carry in NJ. The 2A groups have been instrumental in making Bruen a reality, so to suggest that they're sitting around doing nothing is kind of disingenuous IMO. They can't individually chase every one of the THOUSANDS of applications that goes over a 90 day threshold. Strikeforce was setup so they could understand where to focus efforts, but it will be a long process. Those thousands of applications are flowing in to jurisdictions who previously have processed none, so it will take time to get to a steady state. Some seem to be moving better than others (and some not at all), but the process has started. I submitted my paperwork in mid July, so I'll hit 90 days soon, but going in I had prepared myself for months. I wanted to be an early submitter (like you) to make sure that townships and courts HAD to start the process rolling. You're helping to pave the road...
  20. I thought failures to eject was a feature built in to every 1911??
  21. Yeah, I've never been a fan of decorating my vehicles with stickers of any kind. You can never tell when some wacko in a parking lot will get triggered by a bumper-sticker and scratch your paint...
  22. Got it. My reading comprehension is off sometimes! For what it's worth, I've been carrying in my house recently, but just to get used to it.
