  1. No big surprise in that both New Jersey senators are sponsors of the bill. Even though Feinstein introduces a similar bill every year, there's more democrat traction this year. Given that Republicans are better at being the minority, I hope they make the filibuster work.
  2. It looks like a similar version to the current California law. I stopped reading at page 20 (125 pages total).
  3. For clarification, I was only referring to handguns and long guns, not firearms that are categorized as "NFA" firearms that would need a tax stamp, assuming that is the "other" is that is being discussed.
  4. Wow. Wasn't there something like 500, 000 people there? I just sat though an hour and a half seminar for my job from a person from the state homeland security office. It was New Jersey state government at its not-finest, but it "sealed the deal" regarding how they generally feel about people who hold the Constitution in high regard, or maybe even any reasonable regard. It was quite clear from his presentation that holding a view that the second amendment is more than a right to hunt, puts lots of people in "their" domestic terrorist category.
  5. Yes. Multiple attorney generals, one of which is now a felon, have worked around the legislature with some success. I'm pretty sure Pennsylvania is on the Bloomberg hit list after being successful in Virginia.
  6. It is so much better, and Pennsylvania isn't even a private sale for handgun state! My last purchases in Pennsylvania were one $20 transfer fee for two handguns. There are transfer price variations there too, but I think the most I ever paid was $40. Yes, Pennsylvania has a far left governor like New Jersey, but at least over there they don't have a far left legislature, so the laws (so far) have remained the same.
  7. It is sad and frustrating that the state of New Jersey has been successful in making gun purchases more expensive.
  8. It is sad that the purchase process in New Jersey often comes to this, even beyond the concept of "buyer beware."
  9. Gurbir sounds very typically left and elitist. He claims he is not worried about law enforcement (even though he is contacting the county prosecutors offices), but he thinks the serfs will be confused about firearms "safety" laws.
  10. I have used the 9mm variety without a problem, although I expect some wear (and hopefully not tear!) the more they are used.
  11. The losses have creeped back to single digits! I hope there's hope!
  12. Yep. Lots of red lines on my robinhood account sofar this week. I find myself reading up on things more now. Live and learn... https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/23/tesla-and-bitcoins-value-are-now-linked-analyst-warns.html
  13. I pretty new to this, not that I was good at predicting the future before this! ;-)
  14. I am truly saddened. He was amazing at what he did. I am usually at work from 12 to 3 but would listen whenever I could. He always gave me a sense of hope on the issues of the day.
  15. No, but I have purchased some extra recoil springs and guide rods recently without difficulty.
  16. Yep. It sucked back in 2009 having a brand new pocket 380 (with "pocket" being a code word for practice to control that recoil!) and not being able find ammo for it.
  17. I hope all of those new gun owners join at least two 2a groups. I would be willing to give a box of ammo to a new gun owner willing to join the nra or goa. The current price of the box of ammo would pretty much make up for the membership cost these days!
  18. My fear that there is only a small percentage of either of those numbers that have a significant understanding of the second amendment. In New Jersey, both houses are about 30% republican at best, but that includes RINOS, which sadly, are kind of common here. Calls, emails, and donations to pro 2a groups are always encouraged, now more than ever. We are not New Zealand. We have millions more guns than New Zealand has people, and yes, I hope that means something good in our favor.
