1LtCAP 4,264 Posted July 12, 2021 i think you guys will get a chuckle out of this. until today, i honestly thought cats only climbed trees in the cartoons. till today. while i was stacking my firewood, i had my gsd outside with me without a leash, so she could roam the yard. she mostly kept me in sight. while unloading the wheelbarrow i heard a pant, then nothing. i turned and she wasn't in sight. i hit the recall button for her collar, and no response. so i walk up to the front yard, and there she is at the base of one of the oak trees in my yard./.....and a (probably) stray cat about 30ft up the trunk. i found it kind of funny really, but i still recalled her, and with me in sight hitting the button she came to my side. i had to take her inside so the cat could escape, then let her back out with me. i love my gsd!! All my outdoor cats climbed like squirrels. One actually slept in a cat house I put in a tree, so it had a safe place to go. I even had a indoor cat, who didn't have front claws, go up a tree. Though, it had a difficult time coming down without the front claws. I had to train poochie to ignore all the neighborhood cats, as we walk every night. I really didn't want to be dragged across the yards each time he spotted one. 1 hour ago, 1LtCAP said: i love my gsd!! Go see my post in the vaccination thread. There's your door knocker solution. Displaced Texan 11,751 Posted July 13, 2021 I saw a Jack Russel terrier run up about 6’ on a tree, and stretch out on a branch. The owner said he does that all the time, it’s his favorite place to hang out.
