tbtrout 141 Posted February 10, 2010 I decided to do a run on 40S&W before I change the press over to 9mm. It was not supposed to be. I only loaded 200 rds instead of 1000 and decided I should stop.. First I have a bunch of older 40 brass mixed in with Lg primer pockets. Did not know this untill it was too late. What a PIA it is stopping the SDB to pull out one pc. Then at 185 rds I broke the Dillon or so I thought. Turns out the primer feed return spring broke. I had a spare and finished up the last 15 out the 100 primers I had in the tube. Had to finish it. I hate incomplete packs of 50 rds. Decided not to push it anymore and stop. I will switch over the the other press for 45 in a few. I need to shoot the 40 and sacrafice some lead to appease the angered spirits.

XDJohnTact 49 Posted February 11, 2010 Tim, are you saying that all .40S&W don't use the same size primers?
tbtrout 141 Posted February 11, 2010 Tim, are you saying that all .40S&W don't use the same size primers? There is some older ones that were made from 10mm brass and shortened to 40 length. They are stamped 40, but use Lg primers. I only found about 6. They are very rare.
