Copied and pasted from the official announcement. I am not Bill.

Shooters,

We are going to have our May match on the 8th. As usual we will have sign in at 8:30 and hammer down at 9:00 am. The cost is $15. This match we are going to have some serious fun with some challenging stages and of course some gaming stages that will sure to get the old blood pumping and wipe off the cabin fever from the winter months. We are going to have a 50/50 and some other prizes that are going to be given out at noon time, so be sure to get tickets early, $1 for one ticket and $5 for 15 tickets. My son will be selling soda and snacks for a school project so please help him out as he is not just there to carry my bags ;-D

We are going to have some close to real life scenario's wile still having fun and safe day of shooting.

I have been told by some shooters (mostly IPSC) that IDPA has a lot of rules, and we do mostly for safety and realism to the sport, but we go thru them with each and every shooter. So I hope you and anybody you know come out and give it a try, I am sure that once you try it you will be hooked like I was.

The equipment is simple that you will need. Holster, mag pouch, at least 3 mags or speed loaders, a cover garment to conceal your gun and at least 50 rounds.

The basic idea is to present yourself like you would be caring your gun concealed everyday. Well I hope you can make it out to the match. We shoot rain or shine but no thunder. Match directors will set the range up on Friday around 4pm. If you would like to help setup please contact a Me,Dom,Pat,Mike,Rob or Bill.M for details first.

Thanks

Bill R.

All events at the South Jersey Shooting Club are open to the public. No need to be a member, know a member or have an invitation. You don't even need a gun as there is almost always someone who is willing to share.

    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
