Muzzle-Loading Stores

Recommended Posts

Tim, are you sure they carry that stuff still?

When I went there, seemed like they were mostly catering to inline stuff.

i know it's not in NJ, but if you can spare the time, take a trip out to Dixon's Muzzle loading, its a few minutes away from Cabelas.

This is THE holy grail for muzzleloaders.

I spent like $400 without knowing it.

Any gun stores in New Jersey which carry muzzle-loading supplies like flints, caps, balls and/or molds?

Your best bet is Dixon's in PA. Otherwise, mail order.

I've started getting into black magic myself for Cowboy, and have had zero luck in NJ.

I live in Northern New Jersey.

Have been to Dixon's many times - always make their Gunmaker's Fair.

Years ago there was store in Neshanic Station owned by Charlie Stone. He only sold Muzzle-loading stuff, but then moved to PA when the State started to go anti-gun under Tom Kean and his successors. I also remember a lot of chain stores selling various B.P. guns, kits etc. I bought my first B.P. gun from a store in Jackson, N.J.

I don't know. Forgot about his Federalist Run. I'm a Republican, but voted for him. O think he may have run against Tom Kean.

The last I heard he moved to PA.

Even if you weren't buying anything, you could always go see him in his store, and stand around his pot-bellied stove and discuss guns, politics, history and muzzle-loading.

Charlie Stone was one of the greatest guys I ever met and a Great American. Sorry I lost contact with him after I married.
