even though its been beat to death... I'll bite.. a Saiga is NOT an AK... a WASR is not an AK... a AOM130 / AOM140 IS literally a M1 carbine.. even says so on the website..

the manufacture LABELS the gun an M1 Carbine.. which IS banned by name in NJ..

 

as to WHY it's illegal? maybe at the time of being banned the gun received some bad press for being involved in some type of shooting.. all it would take is ONE little press clipping at the time that this ban was created to bastardize the rifle..
