bbk 188 Posted November 20, 2010 Haha, nice, Harry-- that's the way I remember it! As for hand and arm signals, it can vary depending on the unit, or even down to a squad. The way I learned it at Basic was different from the way my squad leader did it-- which was different from my PLT sergeant, and so on. The only universals I remember were "halt" and "freeze" (which always resembled the Vietnam patrol scene from Forrest Gump w/ Lt Dan, "GET DOWN, SHUT UP"). The hand and arm signals for 'wedge formation' and 'enemy' were always the ones that were really different. I want to say it is FM 21-60 that covers the Army's "guidance" for hand and arm signals.
