DTtuner 21 Posted October 7, 2011 Resurrecting this thread from the beyond... The Detective in charge of FID and Pistol Permits seems to be available after 3pm, M-F. He may be off on Wed, not sure. Tell you one thing... 3 more weeks until I hit the 5 month mark, waiting on an FID address change, and Pistol Permit.
Cemeterys Gun Blob 165 Posted October 12, 2011 It took a friend of mine 9 months. Remember, YOU have to persue THEM. They'll sit on 'em, and not contact you to let you know they're ready.
DTtuner 21 Posted October 12, 2011 In fairness, the Detective has been very informative and patient with me. The problem isn't individual departments/officers, it's the NJ political bureaucracy. I understand that.
Pizza Bob 1,489 Posted October 12, 2011 In fairness, the Detective has been very informative and patient with me. The problem isn't individual departments/officers, it's the NJ political bureaucracy. I understand that. Disagree. The bureaucracy created the framework of laws under which the loacl PD's/officers have to operate, but the time delays are almost exclusively foot-dragging by your local dept. Hence project compliancy.
Luke_WO 11 Posted October 12, 2011 Bureaucracy isn't always the main problem. My initial FID had been ready for over a month and I still hadn't heard from the PD. It was only when I called them that they said "oh yeah, it's ready." Sometimes you have to be the catalyst.
