TJM 4 Posted December 16, 2011 Based on my previous forum post, you've all helped me decide route for next purchase is a 1911 (vs the Sig p220 I was considering). Given that I love my Sig p226, initially intended to 'stay in the family' and really like the look and feel of the 1911 Tacops. I've also had the chance to hold and play with the SW1911E. Am curious for those of you who might have either (or both??) what for you was the single factor that swayed you to make the purchase you did? Both of these guns feel great in my hand - and both reinforced that I need a full size grip, the carry/compact grips are really uncomfortable. , I like the look of both, in terms of reviews they both seem to be reliable. I'd expect to use this gun for HD, range and hopefully once I can find a club, potentially start participating in some of the weekend tournaments that I read about here. As a flyer, anyone with a SW1911Pro - is it worth the extra few hundred bucks to you instead of either of these? I find myself at the range once a week at a minimum with the p226, so suspect I'll continue to use this fairly frequently, at least as much as I can justify with the higher cost of .45 ammo. So she won't sit in a safe and come out only twice a year..... In terms of budget, purchasing any 1 of the 3 is an option with this last permit, but then "she who lays down the law" says that's enough.....for now..... Thanks

Bully 749 Posted December 16, 2011 What about the SW 1911 in 9mm? Might be a great way to go for you. I am getting my first handgun and was hellbent on a 9mm 1911 specifically for the ammo cost. It's a pricey enough hobby and I wanted to mitigate it by getting something that is cheaper to shoot. FWIW, Dicks has Remington 9mm on sale for 12 bux a box. Good luck with your choice. I personally agonized over it for a month. C
TJM 4 Posted December 16, 2011 Did think about a 9mm...but given my 'collection' is so limited - only a .22LR and 9mm, I didn't want to duplicate calibers at this point. Down the line, if I continue to aquire, then I'd for sure be interested in one. Glad to hear that tony thinks it is worth the additional.
