YWHIC 18 Posted February 19, 2012 So I called at 8:40 and they said 2 tables would be open on the rifle side for 9:20am. Needless to say I flew there.. Brought out the new 18" SPR I built and some Federal AE 223 ammo.. at 50 yards I got this tiny group with the MagPul MBUS.. off just a front bag. at 100 yards and adjusting I got these 2 separate groups with the 3-9x40 scope. The group on the bottom in yellow was first then I adjusted up a few clicks. Still needs more tweaking and better ammo to see what I can get out of it.. FWIW, I don't think it will be done by end of THIS month.. The worker said the new benches/tables were left in the rain.. and the pad (as mentioned in other thread) is not long enough.. and there going to be doing a long roof to cover all the stations.. YWHIC 18 Posted February 19, 2012 I measured them up for you.. 50 yards with the MagPul MBUS set and front Caldwell bag.. 100 yards with the scope and the same bag..

LOL yup sounds typical for a gov't job. They sound like they are right on schedule in fact.

Arbelest 29 Posted February 20, 2012 Nice build, how are the Magpul MBUSs. When the money comes available I'm considering doing something similar.
YWHIC 18 Posted February 20, 2012 The MagPul MBUS works fine for me for the intended backup sights.. if I was going to maybe a Red Dot and 'irons' I may do like the 'crowd' and get some Troy flip-ups for $200.. but I'm not.. The true iron sights will have a sharper inner edge and may work better for some though.. I know my LMT rear 6/3 'iron' I got on my BCM has a 'cleaner' picture thru the aperature.. raz-0 1,259 Posted February 20, 2012 I measured them up for you.. 50 yards with the MagPul MBUS set and front Caldwell bag.. 100 yards with the scope and the same bag.. What ammo were you using?
YWHIC 18 Posted February 20, 2012 @ raz-0.. Federal AE 223 'Tactical'. I shot a few rounds of Hornady 60gr TAP also but by that time I was using a 'marked' up target.. I saved some of that (Hornady) and some Prvt Part 75gr ammo for next outing.. hopefully Wed.. I'm bringing along some PMC XTAC 556 in 55gr and 62gr also for the Wed trip..
