Gunsmiths that do custom grip work.

I want to get a Superman symbol put into my grip on each side of my XD45. I've looked but there is nothing like that on here. I saw that a lot of people like stippling their grip so I was thinking I could do something like that where the symbol is smoothed out and the filing was stippled in. That's just an idea. Does anyone know anyone who does grip work for these kinds of pistols? I just got it done on my STI Spartan 1911.

check out some of the gun engravers who do slide work. They might be able to use the same laser engraving machine.

They could, but they probably won't. Many plastics when you hit them with a laser engraver emit very acidic gasses. It can mess you up if you inhale, but more importantly, it can shorten the lifespan of your ventilation system if not designed for it, and REALLY shorten the lifespan of your laser's optics.

Sorry to bump an old thread, do any members/dealers have or make wooden grips for a Smith and Wesson 686?  It would be nice to see some in person before buying.
