Glock 21 Gen 4

Recommended Posts

Does anyone here own a Glock 21 Gen 4? If so how do you like it? I have a friend who is considering one as an option on his next permit. He shot my 1911 and loved how easy it was to shoot. He wants a .45 but was wondering how the recoil on the 21 gen 4 is. They look like a great deal. The 3-13 rd mags are also a big plus. Thanks.

I have the Gen4 21. Great shooter. Soft and accurate just like a 1911 with the added bonus of 13+1rds. I would definitely recommend it. Especially the Gen4.

I always say my G21 is my 1911.

I know RTSP has a G30 in the rental case for sure, and they might have a 21 but I'm not 100% on that.

I bought a G21 SF Gen3 in April of 2011 and have 2,000 rounds through it. I had wanted a Gen4 since I have a G19 Gen4 but I couldn't wait another year for the Gen4's to be produced. I love shooting the G21 and short frame model is easier for me to get a good grip on than the regular frame.

I have shot a variety of loads at varying distances with great accuracy from FMJ at 230 ft. lbs. to Cor-Bon JHP's at 520 ft. lbs. The recoil is moderate and easy to control. I have been practicing the Weaver stance to further reduce recoil effect and achieve faster shots on target. I have added a Crimson Trace laser grip and it works well and helps make accurate faster shots without having to use the sights. I chose the G21 over the 1911 because of it's lighter weight making it easier for me to carry and operate from my shoulder or belt holster and the high grip relative to barrel centerline makes for accurate shots. It is also very easy to maintain and clean.

Gonna get me a 21 or 30 as soon as my permits get here, but I would love to try one or the other out, beforehand. I am glad to see all the positive feedback here.

I got my first Glock, a 19 Gen4, several months ago, and I really like it, so I figure the .45 will be the icing on the cake.
