Yes, you can shoot a .40 carbine w/ optics. You do not need any mag pouches at all, but you SHOULD have 5 mags for your carbine. Steel challenge is 5 runs per stage, 5 targets per run. Pretty much all the normal stuff goes except for rifle rounds, magnum loads, and black powder There will be an Open/Iron divison for Pistol / Rimfire Pistol / Rimfire Carbine / Revolver / Centerfire Carbine As far as the weather, hopefully it holds out - Typically they'll send out an email before hand if the match will be cancled.
