diamondd817 828 Posted February 19, 2013 Win for MN! As gun-control advocates filled the Capitol rotunda on Monday, a senator holding gun hearings this week said he will not take up weapons and ammunition bans that the activists favor. "The outright banning of guns is a conversation that is more suited on the federal level," said Sen. Ron Latz, DFL-St. Louis Park, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, in a statement. The Committee is holding hearings on gun-violence issues on Thursday and Friday, following hearings two weeks ago in the House. Latz said his hearings will focus on universal background checks that would close gaps in the current background-checks system. He said his committee will not hear proposals for a ban on assault weapons or on higher-capacity ammunition magazines. The House took up those issues as well as background checks. Supporters of gun-owners rights overflowed the House committee rooms and were particularly upset at the weapons and magazine bans. http://www.startribu.../191731791.html ... diamondd817 828 Posted February 21, 2013 The recurring theme now seems to be "AWB and Mag Limits should be dealt with at the federal level". Hopefully this is the out Christie will use to veto the any new laws.
Handyman 5,682 Posted February 21, 2013 The recurring theme now seems to be "AWB and Mag Limits should be dealt with at the federal level". Wow, if that is the case, it's a good thing that our national government is run by such logical, rational people...

Candide 0 Posted February 23, 2013 You don't see gun owner wins in other states againts awb and mag limits as positive? No, not for us I dont. For those other states yes it's positive, but in no way is it indictive of how things go in states like NJ, Ny, Ca. We are like a totally different animal. We could ralley millions and march to the capitol but it wont make a difference because our legislators dont give 2 shits what we think.
diamondd817 828 Posted February 23, 2013 NJ is not other states..........yup very + but they are a different breed than the people here....IMO IL and MA are not much different than us. As a matter of fact it can be argued that IL and MA are more anti 2A than NJ.
BarkNBite 15 Posted February 23, 2013 NJ has histroically been run by lawyers, prosecutors and the State Legal Authorities.......not the people, which makes us different...IMO. What other state has had a SSC Justice say publically that you 2A rights are not garanteed there and put it in writing...?
incinerator950 0 Posted February 23, 2013 You don't see gun owner wins in other states againts awb and mag limits as positive? Considering how are state is run by fossils who do not care about the people here, how liberals, neutrals, and conservatives think they're incompetant yet the mass of idiots keep voting them in. No I think this state is a lost cause, especially since the support from people like the NRA is weak here and no one but us seems to care.
BarkNBite 15 Posted February 23, 2013 Well....the NRA deemed NJ a Lost Cause...back in the early '90s.....I attended some of those meetings...they just flat out left us for dead......and IMO.....they were accurate in their assumption.
