Guess its time to go out again and protest the protesters.

The Morris Area Committee to Reduce Gun Violence — the group that recently organized a rally on the Morristown Green to promote gun control measures — is asking community members to take the "Sandy Hook Promise" ahead of next weekend's Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Someone who signs on for the Sandy Hook Promise pledges "to do everything I can to encourage and support common-sense solutions that make my community and our country safer from similar acts of violence." The movement is named for Sandy Hook, Conn., where a gunman killed 26 people, mostly children, in December.

The Morris Area Committee will hold a breakfast Saturday, March 9 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Morristown Presbyterian Church Parish House on South Street, encouraging supporters to take the pledge. The parade, which draws thousands of people to Morristown, steps off at noon.

The Sandy Hook Promise's founder, Rob Cox, will speak at the breakfast.

"If we all really listen to each other, we may find we have more areas of common ground than we thought," he recently wrote in a column published in USA Today. "And if we search for new strategies, we may find solutions that we couldn't have dreamed of."
