Reloading Question

I know nothing about reloading, and am not really planning on getting into it at this time, but I was just wondering if those of you who reload get the cases (brass) from other shooters, purchase them or just re-use your own?

 

If you get them from other shooters, do you offer them a chance to buy some of your reloads at a discounted price?

 

Im just curious how people amass so many cases

I buy brass and have brass given to me. I do not, and will not sell reloads.

are you saying that as a store, or as a private person? i can understand why, as a store, you wouldnt sell reloads..

Same as henry. I'm neurotic (not even a clinical diagnosis anymore) about my reloads. If something's going to fail, I'd rather it occur to me than someone else.

Selling reloads makes you an ammunition manufacturer in the eyes of Federal and state law. Selling reloads is not only illegal but opens you up to more liability than you ever could want.

Exactly. If I accidentally botch a load and it hurts me or my gun, then so be it, lesson learned. If it were to happen to someone I sold reloads to I would feel horrible. No matter how good you think your reloads are, you will have an issue. Its not if, its when.

Henry - as a store, if someone gives you a lot of brass to use, do you offer discounts on OTHER stuff?

I save and buy brass when the price is right.

Like others have said no on the reloads.

But if you have brass to sell, I and others here would be interested.

I never buy brass, only save what I shoot & pick it up when I can. And I won't let other people shoot my reloads unless I know them really well & explained to the what they are getting themselves into.
