Kimber Solo

Does anyone have a Kimber Solo they'd be willing to let me shoot a few rounds off of?

 

I'm looking for a CCW and I'm 5'2 so size of the handgun is of the utmost importance.

I know millsan posted this a while ago looking for a Kimber Solo to try.

I dont think anyone responded. You might want to try Heritage Guild Easton and see if they have one for rent. I saw one there a few weeks ago but it was a display only/not for sale , that keads me to believe that they might rent you one. Call them.

 

If you want to try a G26 and a Sig P238 , they are small CCWs anytime in Bayonne when the range is open.

Don't know how they compare to the Solo but I saw a Stainless ultra carry 9mm and tactical pro 9mm which are non-full size Kimber's for rent at RTSP a little while ago.

I didn't know that was a rental at RTSP.. that's where I first oogled the solo... I may be going there later and will ask!

I looked at Kimber's web page on the solo and they have some very detailed warning that you need to use quality heavy grain (124 or 147) ammo otherwise the slide may not fully operate.

PM/CM 9 is similar size. A little bigger and you can have a XDs or M&P Shield

I read about the jam o magic as well... tjays what I was referring to.

 

I refuse to even consider buying Kahr arms because that's one of the Mooney kid's companies and I won't support that no matter what.

Bingo ! Thats why although I love my Kimber 1911 I bought an M&P shield instead.

Plus although I have no first hand experience I've hear there customer service can be a little annoying at times.

Still considering the Kimber .. it seems that ones made from 2012 on seem to be mostly fine... had I not found that out I would have crossed it off the list... saw that on multiple other forums.

Kate, you should really consider trying the M&P Shield. I have one in 9mm if you would like to shoot it.

I have a Kimber custom tactical II 45, your more then welcome to try it. I think you would be surprised how smooth it shoots.
