whiteout 0 Posted June 17, 2013 They are still busy giving in state tuition to illegal aliens. and unfortunately passed by a huge margin. They made damn sure this s2723 went into a democratic dominated committee.
Mr.Stu 1,928 Posted June 18, 2013 Just sent this to both my Assembly representatives: This bill provides nothing which will impact the illegal use of firearms. The only people who will be effected are law abiding gun owners. There is already a hugely draconian scheme in place which carries out the same checks repeatedly in the process to legally obtain a firearm and this bill makes it worse. This bill contains numerous unworkable requirements such as relying on secret lists to determine if a person is a prohibited person. Such a person has no way of knowing they are on such a list nor any recourse for being removed from the list. Also, the bill calls for two different schemes, one of which is to be chosen by an appointed official. I thought the elected officials of the Assembly and Senate wrote our laws, not some unelected person. Last, but not least, it has been stated in Assembly committee that the cost of enacting this bill "cannot be determined". It astonishes me that the Budget committee could pass a bill without knowing what it will cost. What is the Budget committee for if it not to manage costs? It would appear that it is a Democrat controlled committee which is willing to pass nonsense bills just because party leadership instructed them to. The members of the Law and Public Safety committee were 3 forths of the way to denying this bill's passage when Assemblyman Mainer cancelled the vote in progress. Again, please oppose this bill. mikelets456 78 Posted June 18, 2013 Does this go to CC desk now? If so I hope he vetoes this BS bill... believe it or not, I feel [even] with all his shortcomings, he'll veto this cr@p!!

No, it goes to the general assembly for a vote. Given the other anti-gun bills that passed and are sitting on CC's desk, it's likely this one will too. Does anyone know how long the anti bills currently sitting on his desk have been there? He only has 45 days...

Looks like since May 20th according to this article: http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2013/05/first_gun_bills_are_on_the_way.html Maybe Christie is not watching the same news channel as Obama and does not realize the bills are on his desk? I'm not sure how it works, but if the holiday carries the time period (as it does with certain legal filing requirements in the State) he would have to veto the bills by July 5th. mark_anthony_78 0 Posted June 19, 2013 How fitting... if he does nothing, our Independence Day will consist of more of our rights being stripped away.

Look at some of the biggest freedom stealing bills..most are around American religious or freedom holidays. Freaking Marxists!!!
njJoniGuy 2,133 Posted June 27, 2013 Apparently, the thread on S2723 (the new FID card bill) was dispatched to the paying-members-only area I guess the mods don't think it affects the non-paying members. The NJ state senate passed this p.o.s bill by a vote of 22-16 this afternoon. Now it's up to the fat man to veto it or we're fooked.
