I Seem to Have Developed a Penchant for 4" N-Frames

Recommended Posts

Three of the last four handguns I've acquired have been 4" N-Frame Smith & Wessons...

Top Left - Model 624 / .44 S&W Special / Rogers Combat Grips

Top Right - Model 625-8PC / .45 ACP or Auto Rim / Weigand rear & Hi-Vis front sights / Apex hammer / VZ Grips

Bottom Center - Model 25-13 / .45 Colt or .45 ACP (TK Custom) / Burris Fast Fire III on Allchin mount / Hogue Big Butt grips

Just liking the shorter barrels. The last six revolvers I've purchased (including these three) have all been nominally 4".

Enjoy.

Nice guns Bob,

What speed loader would you recommend for a S&W 627 PC?

Isn't the 627PC machined for moonclips? If not I would recommend that you have it done (TK Custom). Not all that expensive and faster than speedloaders. The only 8-shot speedloader that I know of is the one made by 5-Star. HKS design, except the release knob twists in the opposite direction (I think that's how they beat patent infringement). The insert & twist loaders are not as fast as the one-motion Safariland loaders, but you have little choice. If you go the moonclip route, you need to buy the high-end moonclips made by Hearthco - the cheap ones do not work well with 8 long rounds.

Bob always has the Best Smith and Wesson Gun Porn, lol!

I have some 8-shot .357 hard rubber speed loaders I'm trying to get rid of for a friend of mine.  Holds the cartridges by the headstamp and has a finger ring so you pull the thing off sideways upon loading.  If someone is seriously interested in these things, I'll go find what box they're in and tell you exactly who makes them and what they are.  They're brand-new and I remember seeing about a handful of them.
