Is Auto the same as ACP

If I'm ordering .45 ammo is Auto the same as ACP?

 

My gun takes ACP. NOT +P

I did know what ACP stood for and was pretty sure but didn't want to end up with a bunch of ammo I'm trying to get rid of.

there are a few rounds that are ACP. but they are also called auto.

Auto is actually the official name of the cartridge according to SAAMI, there are no official specs for ACP.

Heavyopp yes it is. ESEE are my favorite fixed blades! I've got two Izulas; one is a user and the other is from a group buy we did on the ESEE forum. Are you on there?

Never knew about the Esee forum -- not a member

 

I had always read about the rat/esee knives -- this year I went to Bar harbor  --  In town is a knife dealer with a rather large, quality knife display where you can get your hands on everything --

 

I went into that store every day I was in town -- He actually had 3 offerings from Esee -- Izula, 3 and 5 -- I got to fondle all of them -- that Esee 5 is one hunk of steel!!!!

 

Anyway -- I ordered an Izula 2 before I even left Bar Harbor -- Reasonably priced USA made quality that can really hold an edge -- I can see a junglas in my future but I think my next will be a 4

Check out the forum bro ...it's a great group of guys. The owner participates on it and so do several USA knife vendors (and even some USA custom knife manufacturer guys) and there's always give always, group buys, deals, etc. And it's not just a knife forum. We talk guns, prepping, bushwacking, backpacking/hiking/camping - but the overall theme is survival.

 

In addition to my Izulas I also have the 6 (which in my opinion if you're only gonna get one large ESEE - that's the one to get) and a Junglas. But I have a bunch of other USA made folders too.

Just remember that 45 colt is different than both of them.  Ive gotten a box or two of 45 colts from my friends that "in a rush" grabbed that instead of 45 auto/ 45 ACP.

Yes, you don't run across them often, but I know people who have purchased both, accidently, when they wanted ACP.

"Auto" is what other manufacturers put on the headstamp when they don't want to mention their competitor (Colt). It's the same cartridge.
