M4BGRINGO 139 Posted December 26, 2013 Sent two cylinders out to get cut for moonclips, no idea when I can actually pickup the guns that they belong to. So............. Can I stick one in a different 686 that I already have? How does S&W check/set timing on these? How can I check timing on it if I swap the cylinders between guns? A .356 OD rod and see it if slides through the barrel and smoothly into each hole in the cylinder? Where do I find a .356 OD rod if I need one? I know Pizza Bob and Rosie must have done this at some point. Maybe even Alec.
alec.mc 180 Posted December 26, 2013 Mike, it's a maybe... maybe not. Your chances might be better if they are from newer MIM guns. You'll know pretty much immediately , assuming you can even get the cylinder to fit, While cycling the trigger, you'll probably need to fit the hand to the extractor on the other cylinder.
