illy 1 Posted September 8, 2014 Might have been an Indesal (made in Spain, not Italy).
Krdshrk 3,877 Posted September 8, 2014 You sure it was Italian? Not finding any manufacturers that start with I... Beretta, Caesar Guerini, Luciano Bosis, Perugini & Visini Ami, Fratelli Poli, Famars Abbiatico & Salvinelli, Armi Piotti....
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted September 8, 2014 I think alpo is right I must hVe misheard him at the shop probably why I could not find it under Italy thanks and thanks krdshrk I'm gonna look up the one alpo said If it is an indesal how are they any good just want a decent O/U for occasional trap and skeet
Scorpio64 5,156 Posted September 8, 2014 Are you sure it started with an I and are you also positive it was Italian? Maybe it was an F that looked like the letter I. In that case what you may have seen was a Franchi.
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted September 8, 2014 It was the Spanish gun Indesal i looked up pictures of it. From what I can tell it is the Silver one model imported by American Arms. Only one i have found for sale was on armslist for 600 the one i found was much cheaper. Just want to know if anyone has any experience with them thinking about going and picking it up tomorrow
T Bill 649 Posted September 8, 2014 I know the Spanish guns can be real good or crap. Research is key here. Sorry, other than that I have no experience here. Good Luck. If I can find out anything else I will post it.

maintenanceguy 510 Posted September 8, 2014 A friend has one. He says it's a great gun but he can't get parts so it's sitting in his safe in need of repairs.

Tell him to check here while looking for prices it seems like they might have some parts https://www.gunpartscorp.com/
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted September 8, 2014 Ok so I went back to the shop it is a Lahrona(sp). Now how the hell do I tell what it is choked the bottom barrel has one star an the top has 1 with n1 next to it I think that means they are both full choke but if someone can tell me something different that would be great also when I pull the trigger on am empty gun (single trigger) it only clicks once I throught it would be one for one barrel one for the other. Am I doing something wrong. BTW if you can't tell I have no idea about double guns
T Bill 649 Posted September 8, 2014 Trigger sounds like an inertia trigger, recoil from one sets the other one.
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted September 8, 2014 Thanks T Bill that makes sense now to see if I am right about the codes on the gun off to domaine research
Parker 213 Posted September 8, 2014 Laurona. * designates full choke Single-trigger is typically inertia set. Recoil sets the second sear to enable the second barrel (top barrel) to be shot. (Pull the trigger, bump the buttstock lightly on the floor, the sear will be engaged for the next pull. This is a test NOT to be practiced in your local gun store! They may not appreciate it.) Some shotguns can be enabled by a slap to the buttstock after the first trigger pull, others need a little more urging. Ruger's and some Browning's have mechanical triggers. Inertia is probably more popular in single-trigger setups.
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted September 8, 2014 Ok in doing some research it also seems as they might be marked as metric designations as in 18.5 over 18.3. I think this would be improved cylinder. Going to look more by if anyone can help would be much appreciated
Krdshrk 3,877 Posted September 8, 2014 I think more of the higher end guns have Mechanical over Inertia.. My Mossberg Silver Reserve II has a mechanical trigger. Stoeger O/Us have inertia...
Parker 213 Posted September 8, 2014 Triggers: http://www.shotgunlife.com/Shotguns/triggers.html (It was J.M. Browning who first developed the inertia trigger and his son Val perfected it in the Superposed O/U in 1939.) 18.5 & 18.3 are bore and muzzle diameter measurements in mm. Subtracting the lesser from the larger, converting that to inches and you can figure out the choke. There is a blurb about this on the ShotgunWorld forum. Fixed choke designations may be approximate, but you won't really have a true designation of your choke until you pattern it with various lead loads. It is not uncommon for fixed-choke barrels to pattern slightly tighter than their designation.
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted September 8, 2014 Thanks again Parker. The shotgun world thread was where I found out about the MM listings
