All 5.56 IN danger

Recommended Posts

I had the displeasure of living in a country where searches were conducted without a warrant....they would "check" to make sure the gun was still in your possession every so often without warning....same with ammunition, holsters and magazines which had to be papered and the Govt. knew what you had at all times....

I'VE talked to more than one customer that came to to the us to get away from the bullshit that went on in their home countries.......and they are without exception pissed off that we're headed to the same place.........

It's sad to see us heading in that direction.

On the national level it's getting bad, but on the local NJ level we are getting hit worse.

No camouflage clothing? I ware camouflage all the time. Do they force you to fly naked if you're wearing Camo to the airport? Then you would be violating indecent material/obscene rules lol.

Jamaica? Can I ware a t-shirt with a big pot leaf on it instead? lol

WOW

All firearms offenders are sent to "The Gun Court"....a specially designed court and prison complex for firearms offenders...

South_camp_prison.jpeg

The Gun Court is the branch of the Jamaican judicial system that tries criminal cases involving firearms. The Court was established by Parliament in 1974 to combat rising gun violence, and empowered to try suspects in camera, without a jury. The Supreme Court, Circuit Courts, and Resident Magistrate's Courts function as Gun Courts whenever they hear firearms cases. There is also a Western Regional Gun Court in Montego Bay. Those convicted by the Gun Court are imprisoned in a dedicated prison compound at South Camp in Kingston. Until 1999, the Gun Court sessions were also held in the same facility.

The long sentences of the Gun Court and its restrictions on the rights of the accused have given rise to constitutional challenges, some of which have been appealed to the Privy Council in London. These cases have resulted in some modifications to the court, but have upheld it on the whole. The Gun Court system has also been the target of criticism because of its lengthy delay in hearing cases, and the continuing rise in gun violence since its adoption.

It's probably the most ubiquitous rifle cartridge in the US, due to the popularity of the AR platform, that's why it was picked first. If it is banned, expect them to go after other popular rifle ammo as well.

Wouldn't work, if they targeted 30-06 and 308 people would be up in arms over it.

Even if ALL 223 was banned how could they prevent someone from loading it? how could they prove it was loaded after a certain date?

It isn't likely to happen, but keep an eye out on gunbroker in the next 6 or so months when everyone dumps all the M855 they bought up :D

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in
    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
