How much desiccant do I need

I have a 24 gun safe and one of those rechargeable desiccant (see link below), but it seems to only last a few days before I have to recharge it and I can smell the moister in my safe.  I don't want to run a wire dehumidifier because I would need to run an outlet to my closet and we just repainted.  How many of these would I need to last at least a week?

We use damp-rid in the pharmacy because our hvac units drip water through the ceiling.

 

It works. Very, very well. Depending on how moist the safe is, you can get as little as 2 weeks, or as long as a couple months before changing. Best part is, they're at the dollar store.

I use one rechargeable unit on each shelf.I also run a dehumidifier outside the safe.I also have a hygrometer inside and outside the safe so I can see the RH.I try to keep it below 50%RH.I usually run 40-45% and haven't had any issues.

i use two lasts about two to four weeks depending on weather.
