MartyZ 697 Posted April 16, 2016 I want to add a muzzle brake to my savage model 16 .308 but i don't want to thread the barrel. Anyone have experience, good or bad, with clamp on muzzle brakes? This one i found custom machines them to the barrel dimensions http://wittmachine.co/index.php
Vlad G 345 Posted April 16, 2016 My experience with clamp on muzzle breaks is poor. They don't just hang out there, by their design if they are any good they are actively trying to pull themselves off the gun. In my opinion, thread the barrel or do without. fishnut 2,358 Posted April 16, 2016 I agree with vlad. Plus the only one I have seen in person looked pretty ugly.
