silverado427 10,724 Posted February 14, 2019 Have any of our members built 458 socom ar style rifle. If so please chime in and let us know how it runs. Thanks.
oldguysrule649 397 Posted February 14, 2019 Hi, I don’t know a lot of build details, however a family member of mine just built a 458 Socom AR. My understanding is he purchased a complete 458 upper and mated it with a standard AR lower. I was present for the initial shooting of it and seemed to run well. He did say the ammo can be a bit hard to find and is expensive. So that may be a consideration.
Redlines 202 Posted February 14, 2019 One word for parts Tromix.
Rob0115 1,105 Posted March 25, 2019 I not only bought Tromix barrel bolt I had tromix assemble mine so it would feed cleanly. The barrel and the feed ramps should be blended to ensure reliablity. I have a 10.5" supressed SBR and may do a .375 Socom as well. I've been loading with Starline brass.
