“Obvious” is reading the words you wrote and believing you said what you meant to say. ”Obvious” is not inferring meaning or making corrections to a written statement based on “context”. Like @Mr.Stu said, words have meaning. We should all strive to be precise - especially when talking about a topic that hinges solely on the exact definitions of the words “stock” and “brace”. Using those terms interchangeably and basing the definition of either of them on “context” is how we got here in the first place.

As long as folks keep calling braces, stocks, the left will want to ban them even more. Look, nobody here is stupid, we all know what's up with these "braces" that are not an SBR. It doesn't help when people foolishly call them stocks.

The Anchor website has a banner at the top saying they will be issuing a batch of checks in early Jan. I got tired of waiting and contacted my Assemblyman's office and got a call back from the Div Of Taxation(theft) the next day. If I had a check on me the clerk who called was going to take my routing and account numbers and issue a payment but I didn't have it and really don't like giving out that info on the phone.

I guessed so too, but words have meanings and we are constantly under attack from the gun banners using the tactic of changing language to suit their purposes. I am constantly irritated by people, even those who are supposedly on our side, saying that people are killed BY guns. They are not killed BY a gun. They are killed BY a person WITH a gun. However, by subtly changing the language, the gun becomes the evil thing, not the person wielding it, and so gun bans gain support. How about banning evil people?

As documented elsewhere in this thread, I made two trips to Woodbine NJSP station to submit my SP182 & SP182a forms. The first attempt was stymied by a trooper spouting misinformation who refused to accept them. On my second trip, a trooper who was not on desk duty accepted the forms, and promised to get the frearms desk duty officer to call me upon his return to the office to confirm receipt. That never happened. I then sent an email to the Woodbine station firearms unit with copies of the executed forms attached, explaining the circumstances of my two attempts to drop off the physical forms, and requesting receipt confirmation. No such confirmation was received. After waiting two days, I resent that email, and added that if I did not receive a confirmation reply, I would be forced to send form copies by certified mail to Superintendent Callahan's attention in West Trenton, so that I could have confirmation that I had complied with the CCARE requirements. I copied the main NJSP firearms investigation unit (NJSP Firearms Invest Unit<[email protected]>) on that second email. This morning I received a reply from that unit, confirming me that my forms had been received, and that there was no need to send them again. So, that is what it took to get NJSP to provide a simple confirmation that I had complied with this ridiculous imposition. Gotta love Murphy, Platkin and their minions.

I was that way with the Japanese Damascus knife, mildly terrified perhaps. Insanely sharp out of the box and a different style handle that I was not accustomed to. I nicked myself several times when I first got it. I recall watching some chef show many years ago, the chef kept saying "let the knife do the work for you". and suggested that if you have to work at cutting whatever it is you are cutting, the knife is either dull, a bad design or not the best type for the kind of cutting being done. I didn't really understand what he meant until I had a superior quality knife in my hands.

I can vouch for Wusthof. We've had a set of Wusthof knives for over 30 years. Finally this year the 8" 'slicing' knife dropped to the floor and the blade snapped in half. We sent it back to Wusthof with their lifetime warranty. They examined the knife and sent us a credit voucher for $140 to use to purchase the knife of our choice off their website. We chose a similar one, and boy is that sucker sharp! Really! Made me a little nervous the first couple times I used it. It would have no problem cutting off one of my digits. So they honored their lifetime warranty, and are still making awesome knives. We have experience with Henckel too. A similar company and product.

I would think about getting a better quality knife. That youtube knife doesn't appear to have a full tang. Zweilling or Wusthof is a good place to start. My J. A. Henckel knives are 30 years old and as good as they day I unboxed them. I also like Japanese knives, I have a couple, and they are awesome. My favorite is made of Damascus steel, it keeps a very keen 12 degree edge and is well balanced. Japanese knives are generally thinner, but the folded steel makes them very strong, like a samurai sword. Good knives are like good tools, they make the job easier and are made to last. But you don't need every specialized tool unless you will be doing that specialty very often. If all you have ever used is an average knife, you will be impressed once you get your hands on a top quality knife. There is a noticeable difference.

If you want the steaks uniform with clean cuts, partially freeze the meat until just firm. Makes the whole process easier and cleaner.

I think the M&P-12 takes 23 mini-shells. You'll get tired of pumping before you run out of ammo

Believe what? I’m not reading an entire Wiki article to figure out what you find surprising. Not meant to sound dickish (although it does). I’m actually interested in what you find surprising, it just drives me nuts when people post click-baitey stuff like that.
