  1. And what's your explainable lawful purpose for possessing this prohibited weapon/device?
  2. First syllable rhymes with ICE Second syllable is LEE And there you have it!
  3. From the Production Supervisor at Geissele, who is also a personal friend and a fellow High Power competitor:
  4. Take a ride down to Millville tomorrow and come watch the NJ State Match Rifle Championships (200-200-300-600yd) across the course match. A lot of the Service Rifle shooters will be at the Delaware State Championship match in Bridgeville DE (same course of fire) Directions and other info here: http://www.cumberlandriflemen.com/ First shot at 8AM We generally finish up between 3 and 3:30 PM Look for me shooting and keeping the stat board tomorrow
  5. You NEVER want to put dirty brass into a sizing/decapping die. You'll scratch the hell out of the die and every subsequent piece of brass you use it for. If you want to deprime before you clean, use a decapping die. It is purposely oversize and does not contact the brass except to punch out the spent primer. You'll still need to resize the brass in a separate operation prior to reloading it. I don't clean primer pockets of pistol brass (except for that which will be loaded as match rounds) or zombie rifle rounds. I do clean and uniform (another PITA step) primer pockets in my match rifle brass though. My classification and prize $ depends on it!
  6. Regardless of the loading setup you go with, you'll want to have Wilson or Dillon Max Cartridge gages for EVERY caliber you load. It's the last step in the production process - QUALITY CONTROL Better you discover your ammo issues at the bench rather than at the range or in the field.
  7. The "other" classification on the 4473 was Eric Holder's invention to keep transfers of pistol gripped shotguns and stripped lowers limited to state-of-residence FFLs. Tightening of the noose, one notch at a time. As you said, let's see what the licensees have to say on the subject ...
  8. John, This is an OUTSTANDING thread you linked to! Gus is the consumate 1911 armorer. I have been a 1911 shooter since the late 70s when I bought my Series 70 Gold Cup at Colosimo's (r.i.p.) in Philly Two used stainless Colt Series 80s (1 Gold Cup, 1 Govt) since then, and my latest, a Springfield WWII replica from Capt Mike here on NJGF The Springfield truly is WWII style, appetite-wise, as it won't cycle my 200gr LRNFP (that my XD45 collection loves) worth a damn. So there's 230gr ball pills on the way from Midway, just for my new friend!
  9. If you didn't purchase it as a pistol lower, you can NOT legally make it into a handgun. Once a rifle, always a rifle.
  10. Weight is the key, and with the proper other components (polymer or carbon 15 upper with a lightweight 7" barrel, etc) you could assemble a jersey-legal AR pistol (assuming you bought the lower with a PPP instead of a COE)
  11. I use Hodgdon H335 for my non-match .223 rounds, both 55gr SP and 62gr steel core. Varget is for my match rounds (52, 69 and 80gr) only No idea on 30-30 Take a look at Hodgdon.com for data
  12. Don't bring anything really cool, like a fully NJ-legal semi auto M1919 or they'll call the Federal Police on you without cause or reason. Fuggem. It's a range for those who are rangeless.
  13. Sept 2, 2012 South Jersey Shooting Club 10 yd (30 ft) 2 handed, rapid fire S&W 41 with 30mm 1x red dot Federal #714 .22LR Score: 499 / 500
  14. Go to the theater and see '2016: Obama's America' Then come back and let's talk about it. All of you
  15. The (standard) bolt release is ALREADY on the proper side for a southpaw.
  16. Does this mean I need to change to a left-hand burning powder??
  17. Thanks! You made my S-I-L happy, and that keeps my daughter happy!
  18. I compete hi-power with a LH Stag upper. It's great to be able to stay in position and load single shot through the eject port, which is now on the proper side for a southpaw. My match lower happens to be a Stag also, but really any mfg will work. Add an ambi safety and a Norgon ambi mag release and you're GTG The Stag LH upper is a mirror image of the std RH upper and works GREAT I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Stag LH upper
  19. Welcome from the heart rectum of Gloucester County!
  20. With Fido lined up in the aperture of the patio chair, it looks like you're preparing to make a Barackburger too!
  21. Especially if he knows you're prepared to out him here for his "less than customer-friendly" $35 per gun policy
