  1. Really....REALLY?!?! You think Republitards are any better?
  2. I'm in Sheila Oliver's district. I've written her a few times about our 2A rights, with no response. I have no problem voting against her.
  3. I was blown away, too. I didn't go with Priceline, because I was strict on dates. But, three one-ways with two different airlines were much cheaper than a multi-stop with just one airline.
  4. As an aside, I was booking a multi-stop trip on one of the "traditional" travel websites. When I selected the "multi-stop" option, the tickets came back at about $700/person. When I booked a series of one-way flights using multiple carriers, the TOTAL cost of the flights was $735 for TWO or $367.50/person. Just a reminder, check all your options (including Priceline) when travelling.
  5. I never thought teachers were the problem. Teachers' unions are the problem. I graduated from highschool (granted, in FL) a mere 13 years ago, and I very much remember that there were horrid teachers that couldn't be removed, because of the unions. Pre-programmed raises, impossibility of being fired, no way/motivation to be rewarded for exemplary performance. It was a sad system where mediocrity was the norm only because many teachers actually had the integrity to put SOME effort into their jobs. It's the unions that are selling a bad system to the teachers and the public is tired of paying for it.
  6. Wow, how crafty of him. Lautenberg gets to lie without actually lying, because he's quoting an ignorant terrorist's video. Now THAT'S integrity!
  7. I just kept an eye out for used Lorcin, Jimenez, Bryco, Jennings or Cobra. Mine is a nice pink .380. Took it to the range and it only FTE/FTF's once or twice every 8-shot magazine.
  8. Because my $57 Saturday Night special that I bought 6 months ago as a joke will only get me $57 (at best) on the open market. But, Jersey City is stupid enough to give me $100+ for it. You do the math.
  9. Ready to don your tin foil hat? You never know when you're the target of an investigation, until it's too late. Could this be "Project Gun Walker" version 2.0? Given the current state of the Bureau of A$$holes, Tyrants and F@-ups along with this state's AG, I wouldn't be surprised in a "joint task force" designed to target people who are trying to circumvent our "common sense gun laws" by "illegally" having guns shipped to themselves. I would refuse shipment and call the shipping FFL to explain what happened.
  10. Any fracking going on in the "area?" This man's water "sputters," too. Remember, natural gas is odorless until mercaptan is artificially added by humans.
  11. BRILLIANT! That's really cute.
  12. If it's not enough money to solve ALL of my problems and for me to disappear with forever (which would require about $7+ Million), then it's getting returned to its owner. In other words, my dignitiy and self-respect costs a bit over $7 million .
  13. Glenn, my fellow freedom fighter! Did you just seriously post a picture of a child riding a bicycle without a helmet and allude to a nanny-state statute as a good idea?!?!? Son, I am disappoint.
  14. That's not the standard at all. Asking the question might clarify what is going on, but it might not even be admissible in court at a trial (it's possibly hearsay if offered to establish that you were not free to go, but may be admtted as non-hearsay for "its effect on the listener.") Either way, under current US Supreme Court precedent, you are considered "detained/seized" for US Constitutional Fourth Amendment purposes if a reasonable person, under the same circumstances, would not feel that they are free to leave. You don't have to ask any questions in order to change the game or shift it from voluntary to involuntary. For Example: If you were cuffed and then stuffed in the back of a squad car and left there alone for 3 days and there is nobody to ask "hey, buddy, can I go, now?", are you still sitting there voluntarily? No, and a reasonable person would not think that they were free to go, either. And that is the standard for determining if you are being detained/arrested/seized.
  15. There is some distinction we may need to point out, here. First, the words arrest, detain, hold etc. They are all synonyms for a "seizure" of the person (from our lovely US Const. 4A). So, while the police may be able to 'cuff you without saying the words "you're under arrest," they are still seizing you under the 4A if "a reasonable person would believe that they are not free to go." Therefore, if the seizing/'cuffing/arresting/holding/detaining, whatever, isn't permissible under the 4A, then the detainee's Constitutional rights have been violated and all the consequences that come from that may flow (a Section 1983 Lawsuit against the PD, suppression of ill-gotten evidence etc.). As KPD said: Execution of a search warrant with multiple people in the location is a situation where all occupants of the location may be "seized" for the officers' safety, to avoid destruction of evidence and to ensure they get the right person (if it's an arrest warrant). Handcuffing someone for their own safety (to prevent them from harming themselves or others) may actually fall under the "community caretaking" job of the police (as opposed to the "law enforcement" job of the police), and may be appropriate, even if no crime is suspected. All-in-all, my vote is that the man in cuffs in the back of the squad car was more than likely "seized," because a reasonable person would not think "hey, all I need to do is tell them I want to go, and they'll let me walk free." Now, was the seizure permitted under the 4A? I don't want to try to pick it apart without more details.
  16. Maybe now we can make default on loans a capital crime!!! That would be great, start killing all the deadbeats to clense our society of those horrible, undesirables. Society could really benefit from such ideals.

    alloy

Welcome to the board, Blue! I'm a big fan of the S&W 686's. Sadly, I don't know what alloy of steel they use. Also, I always assocaited "piece" with western movies. To each their own, I guess.
  18. I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!!! If that little voice even says "wait a second...." Then you need to say NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Your instincts are your best friend, and your first line of defense. You can literally smell/feel when someone is scamming you. Whether you know it our not (even over the phone!). That "little voice" in your head is your pheromones smelling/detecting the dishonesty from the other person. If that little voice gives you ANY type of pause, then you need to say NO!!!!!!! Don't give any information, and start asking questions. If they say you are behind on your paymnent, tell them you need to check on their website. Thank them for their notitifaction, and go to the provider's website.
  19. Ok, I'll give the link. LINK This has got to be the stupidest group of midwest yankee cops out there. That gator is so blatantly not real, anyone with half a brain should realize 1) alligators can't survive in Missouri, 2) alligators don't have foliage growing from their neck, mid-section and mid-tail. I guess we should understand...these officers have GOT to be confused. They work in Kansas City, Missouri for cryin' out loud! It took two shots to realize....
  20. Wow, great job on those....painting and photographing. Each one a work of art.
  21. Comprehensive isn't mandatory in NJ, and it's pretty expensive. If the guy doesn't have lots of money, and since the van looks older, it's more than likely he didn't have comprehensive coverage, which means no insurance to pay the repairs.
  22. Can someone PLEASE tell me where this information is coming from? It's not statute. Is there a regulation somewhere?
  23. First, what is "possess?" It's not defined in the statutes, but does possess mean on your person out and about in public, or is the simple act of ownership possession? Also, from what I've read, self-defense is not a recognized lawful purpose in NJ. Is for display purposes lawful, or collecting? Who knows?
