I have the M&P15 OR. i got a quick release detach swivel like the one below that fits into the bigger hole under the gas block. http://cgi.ebay.com/Heavy-Duty-Push-Button-Quick-Detach-QD-Sling-Swivel-/180662104447?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a104cf17f Then i got an "authentic AR-15" sling from a gun show, no complaints. And please excuse the crappy pics, took these with the cell phone.

My WASR does this. I had no idea what caused this (thought there was something wrong with it). Now i know why it does that and now i have a solution. Might try it this weekend. Thank you for posting this Glenn!

Dude, that is awesome! -
There was an article in the American Rifleman, November 2010 about the model 94 coming back out. Manufactured by Miroku Firearms, Japan, imported by Winchester.

PA Gun show this weekend 12/4 - 12/5?
moparman426 replied to Regulator72's topic in Events & Meetups
i was at the last show in Oct i think... there was some politician with a microphone going on about future bans and how he can help PA fight them. he was so loud i couldnt hear myself think. Im sorry, but personally i do not want to be bothered when im trying to enjoy the show. it was such a turn off that i stayed home this weekend. plus the amount of M1 Carbines for sale is just torture... ugh... -
ooooooooh, ok. ill try again later. Thanks.

hows your 97 coming along? any updates?
-
Very nice 97. Good luck with it! I picked one up at a gun show a few years ago. Mine is the take down model made in 1899. been debating on cutting the 30 inch barrel to 20... just cant get myself to do it.

just saw the commercial on Comedy Cental... cant wait!

Do you plan your purchases
moparman426 replied to usnmars's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
I planned the M&P 15 for a few months. The M1897 was planned for about 3 minutes when i saw it on the table at a gun show. The SKS was planned, i wanted to research them and study them and know what im getting into... but when i saw it at another gun show, impulse took over and i grabbed it. im planning on a Garand soon, but i know impulse will take over if i see one and ill just buy it. -
My Winchester 1897. Serial number is in the 54XXX range. This thing is so badass, love it.

Maksim hit it on the nose, Magpul AFG. I could move it forward a little more, but it would get in the way of the detachable sling swivel.

Fun toy for those whom have never grown up :)

dude that is the coolest thing ever! -
Decided to take the M&P 15 out for a photo shot. Nothing fancy. Found the mag pouch at a flea market and tried to copy the M1 carbine style 'pouch over the stock' look... didnt work too good.
-
very nice!! original finish and stock too?
-
Promised the lady id spend that weekend with her... dammit... let me know how the show is.

how NOT to park on a railroad...
moparman426 replied to Pew Pew Plates's topic in General Discussion
WOW what a rip off! Those can be had for $350-500 bucks. Steam whistles are better though You need to mount them right on the air tank (hoses or pipes constrict too much) and an 80+ gallon capacity to blow them on air but they are nicer lol. I just throw em on the loco at work how well do those work on the model trains?? Those trains HO scale?
