    Stock Pile

When I get down to a couple hundred rounds of a caliber/gauge that I shoot I usually buy 1000 rounds to replenish the inventory. My reasons are more because of deals on bulk ammo, and the fact that most of my trips to the range are last minute decisions and I don't have time to stop and pick up a couple boxes of ammo. It's just a convenience thing for me.
  2. My understanding is as follows: For long guns: Legally in order to borrow(this is a transfer in the eyes of NJ law) while not at the range a COE should be completed transferring the gun from one owner to the next, regardless of relationship(married, son, father, etc) For handguns: Legally in order to borrow(again this is a transfer) while not at the range, a pistol permit should be completed. In fact, there was a case previously posted on the forum where a handgun was used in a home-defense situation where both husband and wife had FID cards. The handgun used to shoot the intruder was registered to one partner but the spouse actually shot the perp and was charged with an illegal transfer of a handgun.
  3. I'm going to bail as well... going to go bust clays in Clinton instead.
  4. You think that's a foul up? I just went through the process of an address change(different town) and also got some pistol permits. On each PPP my DOB is listed correctly, but my age is wrong. On my new FID my DOB says I'm 12 and the "date of issue" is 10 years prior to the DOB listed on the card. Supposedly I will have everything fixed and in my hand tomorrow.
  5. I'm in... non-member though.
  6. A police officer pulls a guy over for speeding and has the following exchange: Officer: May I see your driver

He may know other "things", but he doesn't know dick about this. :text-imwithstupid:
  8. Agreed with Maks on the Bushnell. I have that scope on my .22mag and targets are crystal clear @ 100yrds. I can usually shoot 1MOA with the setup at that range.
  9. You're right you would be within your right, but you would also be acting like an ass. While he could not search your vehicle, you would definitely be issued a summons. If you're ok with paying the summons, more power to you... I would just prefer to avoid the summons. With that being said, I would certainly respect you if you did as you posted!
  10. IMO you should look for a cheap rifle chambered in .22lr(Ruger 10/22 is the favorite). You can buy one and top it with a cheap scope for under $200. You'll be able to shoot it all day long at NJ's various Wildlife Management Areas for free, once you get your hunting license. Next look for a good quality shotgun. I would go with a Remington 11-87 or 870. The auto will obviously be more cash up front, but your shoulder will thank you if you choose to hunt for deer with slugs. Either way, be sure to get a rifled and smoothbore barrel so you can hunt both upland game and deer. Once you have those two, you can probably afford a lower-end AR, or definitely build your own. This is the route I would take without a doubt.
  11. Bumping this with +2 definites(me and the gf), providing we can both get the day off.
  12. This seems contradictory. It would seem that if you are working nights, you'd be free days - albeit late in the day, if you value such trifles as sleep. I just figured I'm due to make the rounds and it's always more fun to share the experience. Still looking. Adios, Pizza Bob Not yet awake so my point didn't come across properly. I work a pitman schedule which means I'm off Monday-Tuesday and Friday on one week, than Wednesday-Thursday of the following week, and I switch nights and days every two weeks. So long as I'm on a "day shift" sleep schedule and not working, I'm in for a road trip.
  13. She could spy on me any day.
  14. I'd love to come along. But I'm working nights until the 9th. Once I get back to days I'm in.
  15. Unless you can make a reasonable defense that you have the tool for a purpose other than self-defense.
  16. Perhaps. My shoulder is fine.
  17. The "Wilderness Survival" Boy Scout Merit Badge book has a lot of good info in it. And it can be had quite cheap.
  18. Yea, I regularly cruise imfdb. Awesome resource.
  19. Agreed on all counts. Apparently I have the maturity of a child less than 5yrs old because I was LMAO at Kelly's comment. Def something I would have said.
