  1. The buds transfer issue is sticky. While we accept transfers from them, some shops choose not to because of the terms BUDS imposes on their "preferred" ffl's I.E. no right to refuse a transfer, no notice of incoming transfer, etc. Some made the decision to deal with them, others severed ties. To each their own.
  2. While these are very broad general statements it will get the point across. Stainless barrels are relatively easy to care for, and are slightly more accurate than a chrome lined AR barrel. Stainless barrels do not dissipate heat well, and if fired when very hot, will lead to more rapid barrel (muzzle and throat) erosion.
  3. While I dont agree with them calling you a liar to our face, they are not wrong for not matching Buds price. I work at a brick and mortar shop, and in this particular instance if they matched the price they would in fact be losing money. The price you see on buds is below dealer cost.
  4. And where do you think that will get you. While I agree that some stuff in the marketplace is high, no one is forcing you to buy anything from those people, and honestly I don't see your forum name written in green or red.
  5. You can keep what ever list you want. A product is worth what the market is willing to pay. If a consumer is willing to pay the price listed, who are you to judge, Welcome to capitalism. Furthermore, how do you know that the item is selling for the price listed? How many times have you bought or sold something in the marketplace for an agreed upon lower price?
  6. Exactly. Sining the wad ad shot stack as it travels down the barrel will cause the pattern to open up very quickly. It will be dense around the outside and empty in the middle. Hence the problem with the 410 shotshell pistols
  7. No gun show loophole exists in NJ. It is a stretch to say that face to face sales are akin to this, but in NJ, in order to be an eligible (read Legal) buyer, the transferee must have a valid Firerams Purchaser Identification Card or Permit to Purchase a Pistol. In order to obtain said doccumentation, one must have passed the requisite background checks.
  8. this looks familiar steve. Good luck!
  9. We all need to pump the brakes a little bit, this forum is becoming almost unreadable at times.
  10. I know this may not be the popular opinion, but I think we all need to take a minute, spend some time with our families this holiday season, and relax a little. This forum has been inundated with doom and gloom posts that equate to the sky is falling. We have no facts about what is coming down the pipe. All this panic buying, stress, and what if scenarios are certainly not helping anyone. We need to wait and see what the new year has in store instead of reacting to speculation.
  11. its an interesting thought. Most NJ guns are already compliant to the proposed new ban.
  12. Depending on the diameter of the screw, you could drill a smaller hole in the shaft of the screw and use an easy out to remove it. unbend a paper clip and see if it is actually below the level of the receiver, flush, or slightly above. If slightly above it will be easier to remove
  13. Im 100% sure the trigger is being released fully each shot. It happend even if your finger is taken off the trigger
  14. Yeah, I checked the ejector rod, and their is no play. Also nothing under the ejector star.
  15. New 686 with a trigger problem. When firing in double action the trigger locks up, until the trigger is released and re-squeezed. The number of times the trigger needs to be released is anywhere between 1 and 4 times. It happens on different cylinders. Cocking the hammer into single action also alleviates the issue. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the cylinder stop is not disengaging all the way and is hanging up on the trailing edge of the cylinder stop notch, resulting is slight nicks in the edge of the cylinder stop notch. With the cylinder is open and the turned their is a little "wag" in the ejector rod. Their is no movement of the cylinder under lockup, but it appears that if slight rearward pressure is placed on the cylinder it unbinds. Any ideas on possible causes/fixes?
  16. Bob, no disrespect but I have also seen the arms in question on his shelf. I have also fielded questions about the guns there from customers at my shop, asking why he will sell them and not us.
  17. This advice may be some of the worst I have ever seen offered on this forum. I hold 2 pink cards working at 2 ffl's. This gun is illegal as per the admin code, 2 ffl's, an LEO, and NJ2C. I would NEVER transfer this item to an individual because its quite cut and dry, a semi auto shotgun with a pistol grip in the state of NJ is considered an assault weapon. Its easy to tell someone over the internet that they should just "quit playing mother may I... keep your trap shut" You are not the one who will be arrested, charged, and more than likely prosecuted. Its this kind of hush hush attitude that will continue to have an FFL transfer these guns to people, possibly getting even more people jammed up. To the OP- Contact council who is well versed in weapon law. You are playing with fire and need to have the situation remedied post haste. Your freedom and 2a rights depend on it. Sayreville Sportsman is the one selling them
  18. East Brunswick is limiting residents to 2 as of a weeks ago
  19. Your best bet is going to be starting close and working your way out distance wise. Adjusting for elevation is going to just plain old suck though. That scope is high over the bore and adjusting elevation is going to be interesting.
  20. This is exactly why they developed 45 GAP
  21. normal saturday operating hours i believe
  22. It is up to the chief. They had a meeting in the spring and decided to no longer renew permits because they didn't like filling out permits that they knew were going to need to be renewed (non exempted ogam purchases). It was stated that it was a waste of department resources and if you wanted to buy 6, the buyer would need 2 sets of 3. Strait from the horses mouth.
  23. I know its not an Iphone App but take a look at the Kestrel Systems. It gives you the environmental data you need and some have a built in ballistic calculator.
  24. Keep in mind that this gun was designed to have the long take up. When some triggers are installed or tweaked, properly or improperly, you can greatly increase your risk of an AD. Anyone who shoots USPSA at CJ should know this first hand. A glock is never going to have a 1911 like trigger and still be safe. It just wasn't designed to operate that way.
