  1. Would this be retroactive? I was looking at getting my Utah permit this month, but I'm not going to waste the money if they are going to invalidate it or hold up the approval to see where the bill goes.
  2. See I'm a bit confused... What gives the Mayor of NY the authority to run an "undercover sting operation" in another state? Moreover who payed for this? I really hope it wasn't the residents of NY. * EDIT - lol YankeeFan, you beat me to it.
  3. Interesting... Doesn't this place remind you of those compounds you see in drug cartel movies? Makes you wounder
  4. If you don't want to splurge on a SSD, you can buy a 10K rpm drive and use that for your C-Drive. I have a 150GB WD VelociRaptor for my boot drive and it loads game maps much faster than others. Some will say that they wear out faster than other drives, but I haven't seen any difference in lifespan. IMO, your better of building than buying built, for both cost and repair reasons. P.S. When you think you have the build all planed out, post it on Tomshardware.com forum under the New Build section and ask for advice. They can help you to make the best bang for your buck choices and point out anything you may have missed.
  5. At this rate this thread will end in Old English
  6. Funniest movie ever was The Hangover period. I know its not a classic like some of those, but it will be. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is a close second.
  7. Seriously? Ok, I'm guilty of that one.
  8. +1 My brother also used him and won his case.
  9. Police: N.J. Man Attacks Women With Tomahawk http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/01/07/n-j-man-attacks-women-with-tomahawk/ P.S. Don't give them any ideas, I like my samurai sword.
  10. Some places require you to have the receiver FFL send a copy of their FFL License (what ever its called) to the shipper before they will mail the firearm. I don't think this is done normally as the copy of the receivers FFL license is usually mailed after they receive the firearm. In either case I think its always good practice to give your FFL a heads up on the transfer.
  11. YES!!! Boondock Saints is also good.
  12. One additional word to the wise, be careful with those interactive CCW Maps as Ive noticed a few have discrepancies.
  13. I wish I promised the wife new hardwood floors in our house and anything left over will go to bills.
  14. Ok, but does it make sense to acquire gold now when its near peak or during the true SHTF situation? If you had a stock pile of a resource that people would need during that time like food or ammo, you could barter that off for gold at an exchange rate that favors you. If you think about it, right now you would have to trade thousands if not 10s of thousands of rounds of ammo to get 1oz of gold. If you where in a SHTF situation 1 oz of gold might get you tank of gas or a couple of hundred rounds of ammo if your lucky. Now to my earlier point, I think the highest valued resource would be food. Ammo is good, but once you have 1k rounds it would take you a long time to use all of that. Food on the other hand you would use everyday. So IMO you better off having stockpiled food & ammo to trade for gold, then the reverse. Again just my .02
  15. I am not a financial wizard, but I completely agree. If a small countries economy fails it has a small ripple effect on the rest of the worlds economies. With that in mind it would be beneficial to accept gold in that country as their are still markets around the world to trade that gold. Now if the US Economy Failed in a true SHTF situation the effect would be a tsunami on the economies around the world. If that happens you would have a very hard time finding a market to trade that gold. Like you said, gold will never be worth nothing, but I think if you where to buy now you would ultimately lose money on it no matter where the economy goes. I don't foresee the value of gold going much higher. my .02
  16. Yea that is exactly what I was thinking. I won't buy gold because its at the highest I can remember. I think if you buy now without a good deal your going to be stuck with gold you overpaid for. I would suspect in a true SHTF situation, I would guess Food would hold the best currency. If I where to drop some bank right now it would be on Ammo or Mountain House dehydrated (canned) food which is good for 30 years. Thats my take on SHTF. Now as far as gold in concerned I have been researching prospecting again. You can join a couple different clubs that have claims you can pan at for the free (w/ membership fee). If you find an once you truly made some money. If not, at least you got some exercise out of it.
  17. I voted for you from my and my wife's accounts. P.S. It is a good photo. I don't see why you would vote for a car that's just hard parking. That's just my .02
  18. Here my point of view, you really don't need another statue or clause to transport a weapon in a singe compartment vehicle: g.All weapons being transported under paragraph (2) of subsection b., subsection e., or paragraph (1) or (3) of subsection f. of this section shall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported, and in the course of travel shall include only such deviations as are reasonably necessary under the circumstances. That right there states that you can carry a firearm in a "fastened" case in the main compartment of a vehicle. If you consider a saddle bag "securely tied package" then you don't even need a case, but I would test that . From the Sate Police Q&A: Q6. How do you transport firearms? A6. Firearms shall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported. Ammunition must be transported in a separate container and locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console. Im not sure about the ammo part of that answer as I haven't read any statutes that state how ammo must be transported, but the rest makes sense. A center console or glove compartment are not closed and fastened cases, gunboxs or securely tied packages. my .02

  21. Yea my hand-me-down craftsman started acting up at the end. I think its going to need to be stripped down and cleaned again. I may just buy a new one at tax return time depending if they are on sale.
  22. We only got like 3-4 inches here, but the alert is saying "THE GREATEST INTENSITY WILL BE THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF MONDAY." So I will see tomorrow...
  23. I planning a hiking in Montana next year, so everything was for that: Jansport Big Bear 88 Pack Eurika Spitfire solo Mountain Hardware sleeping bag sleeping pad and some other random stuff
  24. My Brother and I picked up three 3A vests from a guy on eBay, Roundy_Face for about $350 each. Yea I know what your thinking, but they are pretty decent and we used the 3ed one for testing. It did in fact stop .44 mag and it is NIJ compliant. With that being said however it not just the penetration that can kill you. If the vest stops the bullet, but doesn't displace enough energy you could still die from blunt force trauma. P.S. The vest we got are very plain with no plate carriers. They are also not very concealable.
  25. Most towns/counties have a chemical waste day. They take used oil for free. I use to do a lot of car work, but I have slowed down over the years. In the past all my cars where project cars. I have found its just to much of a pain in the butt to have a car that is unrealiable. One day I will get another project car, when I have the time and money to dedicate to it. My worst repair to date was when I had my 87 Toyota Supra Turbo. One day I go to leave for work and it wont start. It cranks, but wont start. So I call in sick and the fun begins. Over the next couple of days I check everything. Battery, spark system, fuel system, Fuses etc. I give it one last try and it still doesn't start, but this time I see a puff of smoke from the intake side of the motor. So I go looking under the intake manifold and see a melted mess of wires. Part of the wiring harness that was clipped to the intake manifold fell down and rested against the block. Well the next 4 hours where spent sitting on top of the motor cutting out sections of wire and soldiering in new sections. It was something like 30 wires. Not fun.
