Birdsong is my favorite but its expensive and will probably take 6-8 months to get back. Second would definately look into nitriding. Its relatively inexpensive and coats all surfaces inside the barrel included. It basically bonds with the metal hardening it to the point you will break drill bits on it if you ever have to do any work to it. The downside is the color may be uneven after this process is done and a duracoat may be needed for looks

I have had extreme luck with 55gr sgk's with 21 grains of re7 in my steyr scout. sub 1/2 minute close to 3/8 repetedely

I've been running Universal clays for a while now i bought 5 lbs of it and it takes a long time to go through it at 5.7-6 grains at a time. My question is does anyone else run this powder? And does it cause any jamming or have you seen any unburned powder. I run 230gr ball with cci primers. My 1911 will only stay clean for about 100-125 rds and then i either have to clean it or accept the jamming. What should be my next powder to try>

I only switch between 45 and 223. 300 win mag, 308, and 6.5 Grendel i throw charges with a rcbs charge master.

You may want to check your ZSG again your best friend as far as firearms go will be a surplus war horse because it will double as a melee weapon once you run out of ammo. pretend the horse is a zombie and the bat is a garand although i guess that is a semi so your still right

I make sure every last grain is out but I do not scrub the stain/discoloration left on the measure. As long as the press is in a cool dry place nothing sticks, in my experience anyway

agreed the fact that its 6" off the wall is kind of a giveaway. A better idea would be to Sheetrock over a gun or two and when the time comes that guns are banned and they come to take em. you will always have the stash behind the wall

I have 6 of em and love them. they have kept my stuff safe for the past 5 years or so. The hardigg storms are supposedly on par with pelican maybe a bitt cheaper. But Pelican just feels right to me. Plus Pelican sent a million dollars worth of flashlights to aid in Haiti.

With spotting scopes you definitely get what you pay for. In NJ anything will do as long as it holds together. but once you get out to 500 and beyond and you need to follow trace you will need to spend a bit more to be even remotely happy. I started out with a Leupold green ring. It was great in my back yard and at CJRPC but when i tried following trace at 400 I saw nothing and there was a definite lack of focus. So since I ended up camping on that trip instead of using a hotel room i decided to splurge and bought this, It is ridiculously clear

So? I haven't either, and yet my 10 yr old daughter and I are taking the Hunter Ed Safety Class this weekend. You can get the DVD and workbook online. Then you sign up for the "practical exam". I'll let you know how it is on Sunday. As far as hunting, I plan on being the guy crashing through the bushes behind somebody else who's been hunting for nearly forever this year, I just need to find that guy... Eh, I'm sure the DVD and workbook is good and all and someone can probably be a decent hunter learning that way. But the way I always imagine hunting (everything from modern to cave man with a spear) and maybe I'm just misinformed, is as a parent to child, grandparent to grandchild, friend to friend, etc. hands on learning thing. I would imagine someone who learns to hunt by a friend (or even a paid instructor) out in the field with real world experience (sometimes decades of it) knows a lot of little things that a DVD just couldn't possibly teach. Of course someone would still take the exams and all for licensing due to laws, but you know what I mean? Im not a big hunter anymore. But most guys I know learned bad hunting techniques from friends and family and better ones from reading and practicing what the pros do.
