  1. I am looking to order a new front sight from Dawson for my Sig 1911 and the size that I want only comes in a partridge style what the hell is that? I usually buy ramped and I couldn't find a picture by searching for it. I use this for USPSA SS. I read some things but not really getting the difference. I need a picture if possible!
  2. Don't even worry about looking like an ass we have all had that happen, some more than others, just worry about safe gun handling and take your time on stages. You will have a great time!
  3. From everything I have read it seems to say that for a soft shooting 3 gun rifle with an 18 in barrel rifle length is the softest shooting. I have just recently found out about intermediate and will wait to hear what Ty says about it. I have a 16 with a mid and a 14.5 with a carbine length and there is a bit of a difference in the carbines pushing back into my shoulder and seeing the scope move. I would really like to have an 18" with rifle length but I need to know more and shoot someones who has the system I want. I am thinking about getting rid of my 14.5 in. upper and or whole rifle to setup my 3 gun rifle the way I want it as it's really the only one I shoot anyway. I just hate to sell any guns!! So i don't have an answer for you just some thoughts. I think it really depends on what your P is gonna be in your SPR.
  4. Go over the rule book and know the basics, show up early tape when needed and have a hell of a lot of fun bring lots of ammo, better to bring home then to not have enough!! http://www.uspsa.org/document_library/rules/2014/Feb%202014%20Handgun%20Rules.pdf
  5. Oh that sucks to hear the beep and you still have a few more to shoot!!!
  6. Ahh ok I get it now...I was thinking Sevigny and Jerry were there!!!
  7. Who were the Pros in the Pro part of Pro-Am? Is this a steel match or an outlaw shoot as you see them and just setup any type of stages?
  8. This is just something that bothers me when someone talks and constantly says "you know"! He makes some good points. I am lucky I bought 2k worth of CCI mini mags and I used to shoot 2 rimfire matches a month now I only shoot one as the one match went to precision and I don't have a precision gun to use. So it's just a steel match a month and I still have enough ammo and never had to buy recently. I am getting low but I will wait until I have none before I will buy at from a gouger!
  9. Ty, What is the size of the intermediate gas system? I am looking for a rifle length gas system on a 18 or 16 (harder to find). i haven't seen an intermediate system so I was wonder the length. I am looking to move from a mid to longer. Also how are the Odin barrels. I have been reading about the Nordic barrel 18 rifle lgth. so compared to that barrel any thoughts? Thanks, Doug I thought this was a PM but I made a new thread not sure how I screwed that up.
  10. I will vouch for that I have been hassled there also, I only bring my 10 rd AR mags there now (I actually don't go anymore). The RO was busting my ass and asking to see all my mags, I told him they were all on the table and he actually picked them all up for a quick look. I will say this is the only guy there I have had issues with and he is a young kid trying to impress with his vast knowledge of nothing. I think he is the first guy in the rumor mill, he repeats every little bit of crap he hears an I think he believes it!
  11. Sig has a few of these "Masterpiece guns" with a different themes. I saw one based on Keltic symbols awhile back. I did quick search but didn't find them. I think they were a little over the top!
  12. I used to work with an Oleg from the Ukraine. Do you work with accounting or manufacturing software (Best or Solomon)? And Welcome to the forums!
  13. My TRL-3 hung passed the muzzle of my fnp and I just put some electric tape on the bezel and no cleaning problems just remove tape when bad and replace.
  14. I got the trl-3 from Streamlight and I have put a few hundred rounds through the G17 G3 without issues. I also had it on my FNP9 and it was fine, stuck out about 3/4 of an inch. This one fits perfect on my G17 comes right the the end of the barrel. That was about as cheap as I was willing to go. I think it was $75 last year
  15. Vortex makes both the SPARC and the Strikefire and a bunch of other great optics. Vector is a totally different company and I have no idea who they are. Vector seems to be like all low budget optics UTG ,leapers and sightmark and a bunch more Don't confuse these guys with Vortex. I have used and owned a few Vortex pieces and they are very good. I still own a SPARC and I like it.
  16. The event runs year round, for any match always check their website the day of a match, especially if the weather is not good. Plus it was posted here the night before!! http://www.oldbridgeknockdown.com/
  17. 147gr bullets is all I shoot in my 9mm's that includes Glock and 1911's and FNH. I don't buy Federal but compared to 115's they are a bit easier on recoil.
  18. Do you have a B.A.D lever on it? I had one on my first AR and had the same problem until I removed it. Also what type of ammo? Do you have an adjustable gas block?
  19. The JM Pro seems to be hit and miss and so does the 930spx. I have a 930spx setup for 3gun and it runs great. I clean it pretty often but I will cycle very light loads. I was shooting it the other day with a guy who had a Beretta 1301 and he had problems cycling the light 7/8 loads but mine was fine. There is a lot of info on the 930's just search and you will find all kinds of problems. So glad I got a good one!
  20. Show up on the day with enough ammo mags and appropriate shooting utensil and pay your fee and then shoot. There are matches at OB and CJ and a few other places depending on where you live and how far you want to travel. There is nothing to it just be safe, tell the MD that you are a new shooter and get the new shooter briefing. Then prepare to have a great day and to be hitting matches all over. The knockdown match can be shot with PCC, shotgun or pistol. You will need to have a bag or case for your long guns and a holster for your pistol or maybe shoot from low ready with your pistol if you don't have a holster. Go watch some videos on You tube of USPSA, IDPA Steel Challenge or Knock down steel matches and decide which match you want to shoot.
  21. You need to get a site picture for every shot. The way I do it is first shot then let trigger out to the reset usually during recoil then get a sight picture and release second shot. Don't think of it as a double tap, shoot controlled pairs and always get a good sight picture. Speed comes with practice and I don't always do it that way but I try to.
  22. I was there the other day and there was very little snow. If there is no more snow before the match it will happen.
  23. Sorry, There are two IDPA matches in Nj on the same day? I didn't now there were that many IDPA clubs in NJ
  24. There is a thread that says there is one. http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/66941-idpa-saturday-3-8-south-jersey/
  25. Whats wrong with the 938? I have been looking at them but I haven't held one yet. Are they not a pocket gun?
